Download Javax Package For Netbeans
years ago Howdy folks, So according to Andrew Monkhouse the javax.servlet.* package is not netbeans import package does not exist a package, it's from J2EE. So I went ahead and downloaded the Netbeans Java EE to get this thing to work but I get a java-ee-glassfish-v3 library download nasty "package javax.servlet.http does not exist" error. And here I was thinking a bigger download would solve all my problems I'm a complete idiot with Netbeans, how to I check if I have Java EE and how do I reconfigure the project so it can find it? Thanks-you P.S.

Package Javax Does Not Exist
Sign up package javax.servlet.annotation does not exist up vote 3 down vote favorite 1 I have some of the following imports defined like the following as shown in the image below. I am wondering, how can I eliminate "package javax.servlet.annotation does https://coderanch.com/t/561238/vc/Netbeans-doesn-find-javax-servlet not exist" error. I am currently working on "Java Web" type of project in Netbeans 7.4. . Secondly, I believe , the above error is the reason behind my second error related to "WebServlet" which is shown in the image above (line #44). Please let me know how to fix this problem. Read some other posts like this one, but I believe they are not using Netbeans and not sure if I should update tomcat as mentioned in the post. Have a look at servlet-api-2.5 classes where WebServlet.class is not included, it's part of servlet-api-3.x classes share|improve this answer edited Jul 18 '14 at 22:38 answered Jul 18 '14 at 19:20 Braj 35.1k32141 If servlet-api was not there, then I would have been getting errors on other servlet related imports as well related to servlet but I am not as evident from the above image. Why am I getting this error in the context of annotation only? –rocky Jul 18 '14 at 19:24 clean the project because some time IDE behave in this way. –Braj Jul 18 '14 at 19:24 I ran Clean and Build but still encountering same errors. The Read more link you shared is talking about pom.xml. I don't have any such file. I just have content.xml inside META-INF folder and web.xml inside WEB-INF folder. Also, the post you shared is talking about Eclipse and not making much sense as I am using Netbeans 7.4. –rocky Jul 18 '14 at 21:53 BTW I had

I installed JDK1.6.0_04, then NetBeans IDE 6.0 I tried compiling an example servlet, but got this error message: package javax.servlet does not exist, package javax.servlet.http does not exist I tried locating these packages, but in vain. I also tried setting the CLASSPATH to many values, still it does not exist did not work. Can anyone, please, help me with this. Should I be able to see/locate these packages, do I have to download them? Thank you very much. 4954Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 6 replies 1.
