I am a java newbie, working through the spring MVC does not exist example. At step 9, I cannot figure out why when I compile using the build file I keep getting the error sudo ant build Buildfile: build.xml build: [javac] Compiling 1 source file to /home/dscheftn/springapp/war/WEB-INF/classes [javac] [javac] WARNING [javac] [javac] The -source switch defaults to 1.5 in JDK 1.5 and 1.6. [javac] If you specify -target 1.3 you now must also specify -source 1.3. [javac] Ant will implicitly add -source 1.3 for you. Please change your build file. Actual Behavior In the console when running the test command I get the following error message error: package org.springframework.security.test.web.servlet.setup does not exist
import static org.springframework.security.test.web.servlet.setup.SecurityMockMvcConfigurers.*; Intellij CE also fails to resolve the package. Intellij says "Cannot resolve symbol 'test'" for the following import import static org.springframework.security.test.web.servlet.setup.SecurityMockMvcConfigurers.*; Configuration For packages being imported I'm using the following
compile('org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-security')
testCompile('org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-test')
Version I have the following packages loaded spring-test:4.2.5.RELEASE and spring-security-core:4.0.3.RELEASE aranw closed this May 4, 2016 aranw commented May 4, 2016 Figured out the problem I required the org.springframework.security:spring-security-test package as well but didn't find any mentions of that anywhere. rwinch referenced this issue May 6, 2016 Closed Update documentation to include need for spring-security-test dependency #3873 Sign up for free to join this conversation on GitHub.
