Error Package Does Not Exist Java
Exist - Eclipse up vote 0 down vote favorite I am new to Java so please forgive me if this has a simple solution (and I hope so though). I have added previously coded .java class files to my existing project in eclipse, while trying to import com.abc. and ctrl+space it even shows these packages and classes. However when I try to compile it says ant cannot find symbol "package xxx does not exist". I've spent hours researching on this but most of the solutions focus on .JAR files and I don't have a jar file. I even tried creating a .JAR file and then importing but I think I couldn't manage to success that. I really need help about this and thanks for your help. You can place you're jar files in webinf lib folder. And after that you can configure the project build path. By Right click on project (in eclipse project explorer) > buildpath > you find configure build path. share|improve this answer edited Mar 29 '15 at 15:35 answered Mar 29 '15 at 15:29 Naveen Kumar Alone 5,66051841 Can't I simply use without adding JAR file? I just want to use these classes in my project. –BurakS Mar 29 '15 at 15:38 A

However, I checked, and the packages do exist, and they are there, under the "Maven Dependencies" folder. With the F3 shortcut, I can open the declaration also, and read the source code. The Eclipse's code syntax check does not show any error. Check the scope of your dependency (test scoped deps are gray in the Dependency View). Those dependencies are not available for code under src/main/java/. share|improve this answer answered Jun 20 '14 at 9:18 Aaron Digulla 203k60364575 You are totally right. I deployed the source code from src/main/java to src/test/java, and now it works. Thank you! –Marton_hun Jun 20 '14 at 9:32 2 Worthy to specifically state: Eclipse cannot differentiate between compile and test scope (still!) and thus all dependencies go on one big pile; Maven -does- split those into isolated classpaths. So if you make the mistake of using test-scoped dependencies or classes in your main source files, then you can get

I followed the great tutorial of Ralf Ebert http:// www.ralfebert.de/blog/eclipsercp/rcp_builds/#automate_produc t_build, which worked fine on my local machine, but the import of the target definition did not work on the server where the actual hudson is running. So I created a p2 update site of my project containing all required plugins with the help of buckminster, copied it to the server, and specified it as a source provider in the resource map file (rmap). Now the import step succeeds, but when the build runs I get errors like this: Error: file C:\Hudson\jobs\Moduig-Buckminster\workspace\plugins\org.ecli pse.emf.ant\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF, line 10: Package 'org.eclipse.emf.ant.util' does not exist in this plug-in Error: file C:\Hudson\jobs\Moduig-Buckminster\workspace\plugins\org.ecli pse.emf.ant\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF, line 10: Package 'org.eclipse.emf.ant.taskdefs' does not exist in this plug-in Error: file C:\Hudson\jobs\Moduig-Buckminster\workspace\plugins\org.ecli pse.
