Feeling package javax.servlet.http does not exist netbeans pretty lonely here! :-) Hi, I swear I'm doing everything correctly (AFAIK), yet Netbeans is giving me a "package X does not exist" error. My About window: Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.7.1 (Build 200907230233) package org.netbeans.lib.awtextra does not exist Java: 1.6.0_12; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 11.2-b01 System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb) Userdir: C:\Documents and Settings\User1\.netbeans\6.7 I have a jar file I have placed as follows: C:\JavaClasses\GoldParserEngine\Bin\hawkins-java-jar-1.3.jar With the sources file here: C:\JavaClasses\GoldParserEngine\Source\hawkins-java-source-v1.3.zip In Netbeans, I added a Library named GoldParserEngine where the Classpath = C:\JavaClasses\GoldParserEngine\Bin\hawkins-java-jar-1.3.jar and the Sources = C:\JavaClasses\GoldParserEngine\Source\hawkins-java-source-v1.3.zip NOte: I did not compile this JAR file, but when I explode

it all the Class file are there matching the source files, the class files have the package statement in them, and the package statement in the source files as well is: package goldengine.java; In the Properties of my Java Application, I clicked on Libraries and then under the Compile tab I added a reference to the GoldParserEngine Library. In the Main class of my Project, I start with the following lines: package AppelSample; import java.io.*; import goldengine.java.*; Yet I get an error that 'Package goldengine.java does not exist." What boneheaded thing am I doing wrong? Sorry, I'm a bit rusty on my Netbeans and Java... Thanks! When I type in... import goldengine. ...Netbeans auto-completes and suggests adding the 'java' onto the end. If Netbeans has no idea where goldengine is, how did it know to auto-complete with 'java'? Lastly, in another project I have, under the Project-->Properties-->Library-->Compile tab, there are two columns: Name (a description) and Package (a checkbox). Yet in

I need to include the JAR into a NetBeans project and call the various methods contained within. I've attempted Solaris as well, but no luck there either. At the moment, the http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9807700/package-does-not-exist-when-importing-jar-file entirety of my Main.java (the only src file in the project) is: package TestApplication; import edu.university.department.ws.DiscoveryServices; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World"); } } The exact error is: C:\code\Projects\WebServiceTest\TestApplication\src\testapplication\Main.java:3: package edu.university.department.ws does not exist import edu.university.department.ws.DiscoveryServices; 1 error I added the JAR file by going to libraries, clicking Add JAR/Folder, and selecting the JAR. Once it was added, I can drill down into it in NetBeans and see all the stub code, including edu.university.department.ws.DiscoveryServices.java, but yet it can't seem to import it. I also tried going to Tools -> Libraries then adding the JAR to the classpath there. It didn't change anything. Is it possible the JAR file wasn't created correctly? I can see the code in NetBeans, so I don't think anything is wrong with the JAR, but I'm new at this and not sure what I should be looking for. Thanks! java netbeans import jar package share|improve this question asked Mar 21 '12 at 15:29 Brian 2826 You should open your project Properties and add the library to wich you added the j

I am now unable to import any org.* libs and it just says package org does not exist. Also, does not I imported jdic.jar into the project and even though the code completion suggestions show up as org.jdesktop.*, it shows the same error. How do I fix this? java netbeans jdic share|improve this question asked Jan 6 '12 at 15:38 Anirudh Ramanathan 32.3k1177123 2 Did you clean your project after importing jar? I am actually trying to import jdic, but anything with a package-name "org." fails. –Anirudh Ramanathan Jan 6 '12 at 16:02 can I get one full package name it is failing on? –Nambari Jan 6 '12 at 16:04 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 9 down vote accepted Clearing the cache fixed it. In windows 7 the cache is located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\NetBeans\... On Linux, the cache is at: /home/username/.cache/netbeans/... On clearing the cache, and restarting netbeans, it started to recognize org.* imports again. share|improve this answer edited Mar 25 '13 at 6:15 answered Mar 25 '13 at 5:56 Anirudh Ramanathan 32.3k1177123 4 Windows folks, if you can't find AppData, search for %AppData%. It's normally hidden. –Menefee Jan 3 '14 at 13:27 to show hidden files: Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options. Click the View tab. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK. –Chris Sim Sep 18 '14 at 11:34 2 Same problem, but this does not fix it.
