Hi guys, I hope someone can shed some light on this for me .... I have tried 3 different downloads of DREAMUP and I get the same result... Dreamup can see my DM500 and I can backup without a problem. When I go to flash with an image (doesnt matter what image - Ive tried 4) it runs for 20 seconds then stops with a message saying "Aborted by user" It's always between 20 - 22 seconds ... I've tried 3 PC's and same error ... I have 4 DM500 clones and three of them are doing the same thing. The other one starts up and hangs up with a message "FATAL ERROR NOT showSmartCAM" All this has happened after I flashed with Gemini Image (GP project) via DCC ... The null modem cable I'm using is universal with 9 pin and 25 pin plugs about a meter long ... Could it be the null modem cable ? Is there any dreamup / bios com port time out settings I need to edit ? Any help would be greatly appreciated ... Regards Rick Sydney. But again, it also can be your computer causing the errors, try using another PC. PMHi guys, I've been trying to flash my Dreambox with Dreamup for the past couple of days, since I can't use telnet as I've http://ftabeta.com/archive/index.php/t-21843.html forgotten the root password. First, my USB/Serial adapter wasn't working, so I wen't to a friends house who has a serial port on his comp. But now, I try to flash it, but I get a error saying "Aborted by user, Exiting" and then dreamup closes down. It works fine until about 30 seconds into the flash, but then I get dreamup error this error. Can anyone help me out with this? If it keeps failing it may have to be jtaged if the eeprom is corrupted. baddcom08-05-2011, 05:24 AMTruman said it.................sounds like its.......jtag time new93608-05-2011, 08:23 AMHow to Jtag ?????? TotalChaos08-05-2011, 08:37 AMHow to Jtag ?????? Well that is beyond what we cover here on this forum, but it is not all that hard with the proper software and tools. Info here: http://www.corelis.com/education/JTAG_Tutorial.htm Try this before you go farther. Hook up the Dreambox using DreamUp 1.3.34 and when says it is connected chose "erase flash". If it works, disconnect and try it once more. If it tells you flash is clean (maybe). Then try loading the factory file and repeat the above. If all goes well let us know here before becomes a
