to or disconnect from a remote folder with FTP access Troubleshoot the remote folder setup Applies to : Dreamweaver Dreamweaver CC A remote server (often referred to as the web server) is where you publish your site files so that people can view them online. The remote server is simply another computer like your local computer with a collection of files and folders on it. For example, an FTP server or a WebDav server. You’ll specify a folder for your site on the remote server, just as you specified a folder for your local site on your local computer. Dreamweaver refers to the specified remote folder as your remote site. When you set up a remote folder, you must select a connection method for Dreamweaver to upload and download files to and from your web server. The most typical connection method is FTP, but Dreamweaver also supports local/network, FTPS, SFTP, WebDav, and RDS connection methods. If you don’t know which connection method to use, ask your ISP or your server administrator. Note: Dreamweaver also supports connections to IPv6-enabled servers. Supported connection types include FTP, SFTP, WebDav, and RDS. For more information, see www.ipv6.org/

Select FTP from the Connect Using pop-up menu. In the FTP Address text box, enter the address of the FTP server to which you upload files for your website. I have set up the RDS password as I have seen on other posts on https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22857682/Can-not-get-past-Dreamweaver-RDS-Login-Error-Server-name-or-address-could-not-be-resolved-RDS-Login.html this site, I have verified my data source is OK on the CF Admin page. I have tried every combination thinkable when setting up a new site in DW regarding the remote page as well as the testing server (which are one in the same). I'm at my wits end with this and have searched high and low for a resolution - I'm not overly technical but enough to know where to look for things and check settings (and to be dangerous :))..... When the install of CF was done, instead of it being installed on the C: drive it was installed on another drive E: would that make a difference. There is already another site running on this box using coldfusion and the database i would like to use as well - so I know it all works - I just can't get connected remotely. I do want to mention that I am able to post regular web pages and see them just fine - i just can't create any dynamic pages using coldfusion. (or trying to learn to create these pages using CF is more accruate) I hope I explai

Solved RDS Login Error in Dreamweaver using Coldfusion 8 Posted on 2007-09-06 Web Servers Adobe Dreamweaver ColdFusion Language 1 Verified Solution 11 Comments 1,118 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-24 In my dreamweaver site, dreamweaver rds I am trying to access my applications. When I click on the link to specify the RDS Login information, I get the following errors. The server name or address could not be resolved. Possible Reasons: 1. The URL specified for this sites testing server may be incorrect: http://site 2. The testing server may be incorrectly configured (for example, ColdFusion may not be running). The only changes that I made were upgrading dreamweaver rds login from CF7 - CF8. Any thoughts? BTW - I edit files over the network on the web server. 0 Question by:bcrosby007 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 14 Best Solution bySBennett I had a coldfusion server in the past where the RDS stopped working after I upraded from 6 to 7, and I ended up just uninstalling and doing a fresh install of coldfusion and then it worked.
