Duns Error 913
The list includes error codes for Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, and Vista. In duns error 691 later versions of operating systems (NT, 2000, XP and Vista) some of the errors can occur for connections other than traditional dial-up modem connections: they vzaccess error codes may occur with DSL and VPN (virtual private networking) connections that do not involve dial-up. NOTE: Some solutions indicate to re-install DUNs and/or TCP/IP. See this Microsoft KB article for Win 95/98 instructions to Remove & Re-install DUNS & TCP/IP.Newer versions of Windows don't allow DUNS uninstall: see Reset DUNS (TCP/IP) in Windows 2000 & XP. Windows Vista: Dialing directly from the 'Connect To' menu or other shortcuts will not display DUNs error codes - instead, particularly large and unhelpful dialog boxes are shown as detailed here. In order to see any DUNs error codes, you must dial from the 'Manage Network Connections' Window. ALSO SEE: Connectoids. In many cases, DUNs Errors can be solved by correcting the properties for your dial-up networking connections. This error can be caused by a number of different problems: With all versions of Windows - Make sure the username and password you have entered for the DUNS connection is correct. Also make sure the phone number is correct. Remember that passwords are case sensitive, and since what you enter appears as ****, it's easy to enter an incorrect password. Depending upon your browser, mail, and other http://modemsite.com/56k/dunserror.asp net-aware apps, a dial-up networking connection can be initiated by various programs - some of which may have their own settings for what DUNS connection to use, username and password. Make sure the username, password, and connectoid to use are correct in each of the programs you use to start a connection. (In particular, Microsoft's Internet http://modemsite.com/56k/duns629.asp Explorer, Internet Connection Wizard, Outlook Express, Outlook, etc. all have options to automatically start a DUNS connection.) If this error persists, try dialing in to the server with Hyperterminal connected directly to modem. (Also see - Using Hyperterminal.) Nearly all servers will respond after CONNECT with a login prompt for your user name, and then password. This will allow you to see any error response from the server. If the server accepts your username and password, it should start a PPP session, and you cannot use Hyperterminal to get any further - you may see 'garbage' characters. If this happens, the username and password combination should work with DUNs. If you get an error, contact your service provider and have them try and log in with your account information. With Windows NT 4.0, if all the entries for DUNS are not correct, you may get this error. This would include incorrect settings for the Basic, Server, Script, Security and X.25 tabs of the DUNS connectoid. The settings fo

Do they have call waiting? Do they duns error 913 have pulse but are trying to dial tone? Etc... 2. If there is a handshake check their connectoid and network settings. If all looks good it is probably a handshake error. Make sure the correct modem is selected and setup. 3. Try upgrading the firmware. To get them on the net in the meantime try lowering the fifo buffers, setting the max speed to 57600, and adding an init string. Try an init that will retain v90 first, but if they just want to get on and download their drivers try setting v34. Uninstalling and reinstalling the modem can sometimes help as well. Check for realms, if in NT make sure you have nothing under domain, accept any auth including clear text is checked, and try unchecking Enable PPP LCP extensions. Make sure logon to network isn't checked. Make sure that nothing is typed in the DOMAIN field if this is NT. 2. This is often a POP problem. Try logging onto a different POP. 718 is usually on the ISP's end, but NOT ALWAYS. If there are multiple calls coming into the ISP's callcenter then they could see a problem, but if not, it is probably the user's computer. 3. Nuke the pwl files. 4. Have ISP reset the password. 5. Recreate connectoid. 6. Full uninstall and reinstall of connectoid, network, and DUN/RAS. 7. This can sometimes also be a communications problem caused by heavy line noise or modem problems. Try updating the modem drivers, inits, commas, etc...and have a line noise test performed.
