disc format error across the screen. The movie usually still plays, but the lettering is stays on the screen. If you go back through the menus it will sometimes go away or you just have to eject and reload the DVD. Now it does it http://www.automotiveforums.com/t654003-dvd_player_problems.html pretty much everytime we turn the player on. Anyone seen this, know what might be causing this or what we can do to remedy the issue? My daughter will thank you. Here is some info from your owners manual (for some reason people get pissed when I bring this book up :screwy: ) DVD Messages The following errors may be displayed on the video screen: Disc Format Error: This disc format error message will be displayed if a disc is inserted upside down, if the disc is not readable, or if the format is not compatible with the DVD player. Load/Eject Error: This message will be displayed if the disc is not properly loaded or ejected. Disc Play Error: This message will be displayed if the DVD player cannot play the disc. Scratched or damaged discs will cause this error. Region Code Error: This message will be displayed if the region code of the DVD is not compatible with the region code of the DVD player. No Disc: This message will be displayed if any of the buttons on the DVD faceplate or remote control are pressed and no disc is present in the DVD player. Typically it is the disc you are using...if changing discs doesn't resolve the concern, I would lean towards a problem with the player. jozuah12-14-2006, 11:59 AMThe OEM DVD player in my '04 started having problems with occasionally displaying a disc format error across the screen. Less than a week into the Armada experience and the DVD player intermittently pauses and occasionally displays a "Disk Format Error" on the screen. This happens for several DVD's so we know it's not the actual disk. The dealer looked at it and told us that the unit was losing power; Whatever that means I consider myself to be a pretty decent troubleshooter so this had better come with a healthy explaination. So far the Service Dept has been alright to deal with. Anyways, I'll keep the collective informed as to the root cause/resolution. ...sEAn... 2005 Armada 1999 Ducati 748 2003 ZRX1200R SeanFro
