You can use Shrink on the copied files. James, Jan 31, 2014 #4 Mombojohn Member James said: ↑ Either use CloneDVD2, or use AnyDVD ripper to copy to folder. Dvd Shrink Encountered An Error The Parameter Is Incorrect
Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 basically i'm getting this error while encoding Six Feet Under Season 1 Disk 3 with dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue programming error exception occurred DVD Shrink. i can rip to my hard drive fine, but the error comes up during the encoding process usually around 100%. i've tried ripping to my hard drive with DVDDecrypter then compressing with DVDShrink. https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/dvd-shrink-encountered-an-error-and-connot-continue-failed-to-read-h.59493/ no go. i've also tried encoding directly off the original DVD into an ISO on my hard drive using DVDShrink and DVD43. no go. i even tried removing the protection from the ripped files on my hard drive with FreeDVD. no go. i'm trying DVDFab Decrypter right now. if that doesn't work, i'll try AnyDVD next. either way, i'll report back. EDIT: DVDFab Decrypter didn't work either. trying AnyDVD now... http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-encountered-an-error-and-cannot-continue-programming-error-exception-occurred-while-encoding-six-feet-under-season-1-disk-3.383794/ EDIT: AnyDVD didn't work. help!! this problem is also talked about in more detail here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/223143 here are the actual errors: Last edited: Aug 31, 2005 pureapple, Aug 31, 2005 #1 arniebear Active member Joined: Jan 2, 2005 Messages: 8,638 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 96 The problem you posted about is explained more here http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45096 Try using Decrypter and ripping in file mode, or as you said use Shrink with AnyDVD running in the background. arniebear, Aug 31, 2005 #2 pureapple Member Joined: Aug 31, 2005 Messages: 6 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 i did rip in 'File' mode with DVDDecrypter. i also tried DVDShrink with AnyDVD running in the background. same error. Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive, and that you have unecessary programs shutdown in the background. arniebear, Aug 31, 2005 #4 jmet Regular member Joined: Nov 14, 2002 Messages: 602 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 26 Did you have "AnyDVD" running in the background when you used DVD Decrypter? I
Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read the file "D:\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check). I guess these few DVD's just have some extra security features that jam up the ripping process! Anyone http://www.sega-16.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-12016.html familiar w/ this problem??? Disney movies seem to always do this. At the moment I was trying to rip Twilight (which I rented for my girlfriend), and it gave me that same error message. ^ 64k06-03-2010, 04:34 PMTwilight! well http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forum/helproom-1/dvd-shrink-out-memory-error-202215/ thats why it error'd the PC has better taste than your misses. WoodyXP06-03-2010, 04:40 PMThat error translates into 'Buy your own DVDs, cheapass!!'. Chilly Willy06-03-2010, 07:10 PMThat error translates into 'Buy your own DVDs, cheapass!!'. You're dvd shrink making unwarranted assumptions. I ALWAYS immediately rip my DVDs and BluRays so that I can play them on the computer and skip the damn commercials. If I want commercials, I'll watch public TV. If you have kids, it's even more imperative that you rip your DVDs and BluRays - the kids WILL destroy any disc you let them play within a few days. One time, I found the damn disc ON THE EFFIN ROOF!!! evildragon06-03-2010, 07:13 PMI dvd shrink encountered usually use DVDFab to get around what DVD Shrink doesn't get.. Then if fab can't do it, there's another utility, but I don't like it and forget the name. It's on my laptop and I can check though. Sparksterz06-03-2010, 07:21 PMIf it had a crc error it's usually the case that the media is bad. In this case I'm guessing it may be scratched? evildragon06-03-2010, 07:25 PMIf it had a crc error it's usually the case that the media is bad. In this case I'm guessing it may be scratched? Normally yes. But I've seen some recent DVD's with improper filesystems, as it shows the DVD as like 90GB in size or something like that, which is impossible. MN12BIRD06-03-2010, 07:56 PMDVD Shrink only has basic (and out dated) DVD decryption built in. Any modern DVD should cause it to halt. You need a separate decrypter like AnyDVD to get around it. AnyDVD will run in the background in between your DVD Drive and software like DVD Shrink. Then as far as DVD Shrink is concerned there is no encryption on the DVD it's ripping. AnyDVD also works with HD-DVD and Bluray and it will not only get rid of any encryption/CRC errors it also gets around region coding and macro-vision. Since it runs in the background it works with pretty much any DVD ripping software. This will solve the issue. Chilly Willy06-03-2010,
