Spoofing with a different brand is a good culprit but it could also be as simple as a different firmware revision used than stock ****ing the console off. You could flash back to stock and see if it works for you then reflash (but since you bought it, I assume you don't want to flash yourself) or you can contact the seller and get your money back (I recommend this).
