Try Again Later Posted on 2009-11-09 Smartphones Exchange Cell Phones 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 1,677 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-08 Hello, I am having a problem setting up a connection to an Exchange server on a Nokia E71 Phone. An e71 error example of the address we are trying to access for the Exchange server is: remote.DOMAINNAME.com.au:442. Please note. We are not using the default ports of 442 for SSL and 80 for HTTP. Here are the errors that I am receiving: 1: When trying to Sync this Message comes up: Connection Error. Try Again Later 2: In Last Sync Log: System error. Try again later. 3: In IIS on the server it always Logs error: 2009-11-09 03:32:27 W3SVC1 10.0.0.5 OPTIONS / - e71 error in 80 - 10.0.0.5 Microsoft-WebDAV- MiniRedir/5.2.3790 302 0 0 4: When trying to browse to the address in the Nokia browser on the phone, I get this error on the phone: Unable to create a secure connection to this server. The IIS also logs above error. (Will connect on other phones) We are using the following ports for the exchange server for web access and active-sync. Port 81 for HTTP and 442 for HTTPS and all forwarding and firewall rules are correct and other phones can sync. It appears that the phone is always trying to communicate over port 80 first as the IIS logs shows why is this? How can this problem be fixed? All of the software and firmware on the phone has been upgraded. Any help would be appreciated. If you are using port 81 and 442 - Activesync (which the phone needs to make it sync) will not work and you are wasting your time trying. Now I'm testing Exchange 2007 Sp1 but seem to be running into problems with the setup. So far, I've setup a new Windows 2003 R2 x64 server, and installed Exchange 2007 Sp1, on a different domain to the one we actually use (our main domain is a .com, and ourtest domain is a .net), to keep them separate until I'm happy with the setup/deployment. I've setup the sending and receiving connectors, and have tested mail is working. I've created a new web certificate from the .net CA, using a wildcard certificate *.domain.net (we use a wildcard certificate in our .com domain with Mail for Exchange (M4E)), and assigned it to the Default Web Site, I can login to OWA, and the certificate seems to work with out. I've setup ActiveSync under 'Server Config > Client Access', as I 'think' it should be, but not 100% sure. However, when I try and connect using my Nokia E71 and M4E v2.07, I get an error - 'Error in Exchange server. Try again later.' I've gone over everything twice, but am unsure what is causing the error. One thing I'm not sure about is the External URL, we use mobile.domain.com/.netas the url for M4E, this works with Exchange 2003, is it OK to do the same for Exchange 2007? The Exchange 2007 server has the FQDN exchange2007.domain.net. I've set the external url in ActiveSync setup as https://mobile.domain.net/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSyncis this OK? Any help much appreciated Ben Post #: 1 Featured Links* RE: ActiveSync & Nokia Mail 4 Exchange - 8.Mar.2009 5:31:06 PM j
