Poking around with modinfo I found the 'force_function_unhide' param. I added the following to my /etc/modprobe.conf: options e752x_edac force_function_unhide=1 That seems to have EDAC working, so my new question for the experts is... Is this a risky move? Per modinfo is there a way to determine if the BIOS is "fighting the driver for Dev0:Fun1 access"? What sort of consequences might there be https://sourceforge.net/p/bluesmoke/mailman/message/20230644/ if it is? I believe it has the E7520 chipset. I get the following from edac-util: $ edac-util --status edac-util: EDAC drivers loaded. No memory controllers found So I take it no EDAC for me on this system? Contact your BIOS vendor to https://www.redhat.com/archives/redhat-sysadmin-list/2007-March/msg00017.html see if the E752x error registers can be safely un-hidden e752x_edac: probe of 0000:00:00.0 failed with error -12 出现此报错信息的服务器是Dell 2850,其实同样有此报错的还有HP的服务器,下面是HP官方的解释。 http://www.icare.hp.com.cn/TechCenter_StaticArticle/44490/44490.html 启动配有 Intel E7520、E7525 或 E7320 芯片组并且运行 Red e752x error Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1 的 HP ProLiant 服务器时,可能会出现下列 Error Detection and Correction (EDAC) 模块消息: kernel: Contact your BIOS vendor to see if the E752x error registers can be safely un-hidden kernel: e752x_edac: probe of 0000:00:00.0 failed e752x error registers with error -12 出现这个问题是因为服务器 System ROM 配置这些寄存器兼容 HP Management Agents for Linux,以求提供错误检测与硬件事件报告功能。 KissPuppet Powered by hexo and Theme by Pacman © 2014 Liu Yu

/dev/pts/0" Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2007 15:24:41 -0700 Hello, Sometime within the last couple of months (so perhaps after a redhat update), our Dell server started reporting a couple of errors in it's logwatch report, and I was wondering if anyone had any insight on them: The first one is this: --------------------- Init Begin ------------------------ **Unmatched Entries** open(/dev/pts/0): No such file or directory ---------------------- Init End ------------------------- and the second one is this: --------------------- Kernel Begin ------------------------ WARNING: Kernel Errors Present Contact your BIOS vendor to see if the E752x error registers can be ...: 2 Time(s) e752x_edac: probe of 0000:00:00.0 failed with error -12 ...: 2 Time(s) ---------------------- Kernel End ------------------------- .. So, if anyone has any insight on where these may have come from, I would love to hear it. Thanks! -- Emily [Date Prev][Date Next] [Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Thread Index] [Date Index] [Author Index]
