EA sux!!!! Back to top #3 Derelict81 Posted 01 December 2009 - 08:36 AM Derelict81 Members 2 posts It works for me, althou there is another issue I have. When I install the game from disc and go to download manager it does not recognize that the game is installed. So I have option to download it and then it does not ask me where I would like to do it, which sucks since I partitioned my drives. But the best part is if I press "clear game cache" button it removes disc installed DA. In short, that manager is some piece of work to put mildly. the EA Download Manager Saying "WE'RE SORRY, AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED." "EA Download Manager could not start or connect to a required service. From SimGuruBrent: Adobe Air is now used as a component of EA Download Manager in order for it to function properly. It is highly recommended to install it when installing/upgrading EA Download Manager. If you have not done so already you may wish to check your router, firewall, anti-virus and internet security settings, as it is possible that any of these are blocking the EADM from communicating with the EA site. You can also try out the following: 1) Reboot http://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/351733/ea-download-manager-problems the computer. 2) Run EADM as an administrator. You can do this by logging into Windows via an administrator account or by right-clicking on the EADM shortcut and then selecting "Run as Administrator." 3) Adjust your firewall port settings - please refer to the following EA Support article: http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/95 0 KimmyPersun Posts: 37 New Member March 2011 edited March 2011 I have tried all that and it still doesnt work. Ive even uninstalled and reinstalled it several times and that doesnt work either. 0 Nichaedemus Posts: 16,528 SimGuru March 2011 edited March 2011 If you have not done so already, it is strongly advised that you update the .NET Framework to at least version 3.5 SP1 which can be done via Windows Update in your Start menu taskbar (use the Custom option). This Windows component is required by the game launcher and EADM to function properly. You can check which version of the Framework you have installed by going into Add or Remove Programs. If you are running Windows 7, make certain the .NET Framework component is turned on. To do this open the control panel, then open Programs and Features, and then in the left column choose Turn Windows Features On or Off. You will see .NET Framework 3.5.1 displayed – if the corresponding box is not checked, click on the box once to checkmark it. 0 KimmyPersun Posts: 37 New Member March 2011 edited March 2011 Ok, thats done and it

I used the Norton Download Manager. At the end of the installation, I get this error message displayed. I click on the Technical Support button. I select the Windows products (Norton 360, Internet Security & AntiVirus) and I get some FAQ's to select. I previously had uninstalled the Norton 360 product that I was using from CenturyLink. I did so using the save data option that was given by the uninstall program because I was reinstalling another Norton product. Is anything wrong with the installed product? Or is this a false alarm?
