Entity Framework Error 3007 Problem In Mapping Fragments
vote 32 down vote favorite 4 I have a console application and what I'm trying to do is that every time the appllication runs, the date and time is sent to a table within my database. The table structure is like so: FTPRuns ID int Last Run datetime Simple enough. I've updated the model.edmx within my application also to reflect this new change, However now I am getting the entity framework error 11007 entity type is not mapped below error and I'm not entirely sure what it means. Error 3002: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1330:Potential runtime violation of table FTPRuns's keys (FTPRuns.ID): Columns (FTPRuns.ID) are mapped to EntitySet FTPRuns's properties (FTPRuns.ID) on the conceptual side but they do not form the EntitySet's key properties (FTPRuns.ID, FTPRuns.LastRun). Here is the snippet of code that I use to update the database also: using (ModelContainer ctn = new ModelContainer()) { try { FTPRun ftp = new FTPRun { LastRun = DateTime. Now }; ctn.FTPRuns.AddObject(ftp); int changes = ctn.SaveChanges(); Console.WriteLine(changes.ToString() + " Changes saved"); Console.WriteLine("The LastRun Date Has Been Updated"); } catch (InvalidOperationException ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.ToString()); } } If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful :) thanks. c# linq-to-entities edmx share|improve this question asked Nov 26 '10 at 9:14 109221793 4,7783177141 What kind of database are you using and what are the primary keys on the table? –Torbjörn Hansson Nov 26 '10 at 9:25 Apologies, I'm using a SQL Server Database, and I've set the ID column as the primary key. –109221793 Nov 26 '10 at 9:27 add a comment| 8 Answers 8 active oldest votes up vote 63 down vote accepted Your entity model has the combination of

I suppose it is common, and in fact I think I recall reading posts on Usenet about this, without many solutions. The problem comes when you have a mapping from one table to another. The error in this case comes in the form of two errors during compile: Error 3002: Problem in Mapping Fragment starting at line 498: Potential runtime violation of table QuotePricedLineItem's keys (QuotePricedLineItem.ObjectId): Columns (QuotePricedLineItem.ObjectId) are mapped to EntitySet FK_QuoteLineItem_QuoteVendorLineSet's properties (FK_QuoteLineItem_QuoteVendorLineSet.QuoteVendorLineSet.ObjectId) on the conceptual side but they do not form the EntitySet's key properties (FK_QuoteLineItem_QuoteVendorLineSet.QuotePricedLineItem.ObjectId, FK_QuoteLineItem_QuoteVendorLineSet.QuoteVendorLineSet.ObjectId). Error 3003: Problem in Mapping Fragment starting at line 498: At least one of the key properties of AssociationSet FK_QuoteLineItem_QuoteVendorLineSet must be mapped to all the key properties (QuotePricedLineItem.ObjectId) of table QuotePricedLineItem. This clearly sounds like there is a problem in the association between two tables. Looking at the designer diagram, you see the relation: and looking at the mappings of the association, at first glance, everything looks fine: The problem lies in which column is mapped to which property. In this case, and I believe gener
