But you can see from the screenshots below that the column is not nullable and that the entity property is not nullable either. So why is this error occurring? c# entity-framework mapping poco nullable share|improve this question asked Apr 10 '12 at 1:54 JK. 8,4742387169 Doesn't (None) mean the default value entity framework error 11007 entity type is not mapped of nullability but not false? If you specify True, will it work? I have no visual studio near me now to check by myself... –ILya Apr 10 '12 at 2:00 1 Changing (None) to False works, but that change will be lost every time the edmx is regenerated (using generate model from database) –JK. Apr 10 '12 at 3:06 Have you tried removing the entity from the designer and re-adding it? I've solve similar issues this way. –ctorx Apr 10 '12 at 3:54 1 @JK - No, it won't be lost. EF does not change properties that are already set. –Erik Funkenbusch Apr 10 '12 at 4:20 try changing options on model generation - there is a place there where you can adjust this behaviour. –yauheni_selivonchyk Apr 10 '12 at 13:26 | show 2 more comments 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 11 down vote accepted The straight-forward solution is to manually specify Nullable parameter to True. share|improve this answer answered Apr 13 '12 at 13:10 ILya 1,08221435 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the pri

takes a minute: Sign up Entity Framework - Nullable Foreign Key error up vote 0 down vote favorite 1 I have a Website table that has a foreign key to a Client table. A Website isn't always going to have http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10082164/entity-framework-non-nullable-column-is-mapped-to-a-nullable-entity-property an associated Client but when I save a Website without specifying a client then it errors out, as Website.ClientID is an int32 (not nullable) and is set to 0. I tried changing the relationship in my EF diagram to be an * next to Website and a 0..1 next to Client but then it gives an error saying that it can't do 0..1 for ClientID because it's not nullable. I then changed Website.ClientID to be nullable, however now it gives http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3040023/entity-framework-nullable-foreign-key-error this error: TothSolutions.msl(69,10) : error 3031: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 69:Non-nullable column Website.ClientID in table Website is mapped to a nullable entity property.
