NavigationProperty '' on the type '' is the source of a generated property '' which conflicts... Jun 04, 2013 03:24 AM|kolic|LINK I am generating my Entity model with the option Generate from database. In the database I have a table StudentsCourses, which has a foreign key to the Students table, StudentID, and also additional field which called StudentReference. When I try to update entity framework error 11007 entity type is not mapped the model this error occured Error 26 Error 6017: The NavigationProperty 'Student' on the type 'EntityModel.StudentsCourses' is the source of a generated property 'StudentReference' which conflicts with a member of the same name. When I rename either the column StudentReference or the generated navigation propery it is OK, but I don't want to do any of this. Do you have any solution for this? Thanks a lot. Jun 04, 2013 05:49 AM|DarrellNorton|LINK If you don't use the navigation property (e.g., if in code you never want to type someCourse.Student to see the students in that course) you could just delete it. fairly short one today. I was playing around with ASP.NET MVC and Entity Framework Code First and discovered a few gotchas. Which I intend entity framework error 2062 to share here. So this post is not about how EF code first or MVC works. For a really good tutorial on this (ASP.NET MVC and using EF Code first) I recommend: "Intro to ASP.NET MVC 3 (C#)" http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/getting-started-with-aspnet-mvc3/getting-started-with-mvc3-part1-cs http://forums.asp.net/t/1911464.aspx?The+NavigationProperty+on+the+type+is+the+source+of+a+generated+property+which+conflicts+with+a+member+of+the+same+name by Rick Anderson This also shows the prerequisites for a setup like this. But that is to verbose for the few gotchas that I will try to demonstrate here. So, the premise is to create an MVC application that will store Persons in a database. Let’s do it from scratch. Create a new ASP.NET MVC 3 Web Application called MVCData in C:\MVCData. Use the Empty template. This sets up the scaffolding for the MVC application. What we https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/spike/2012/01/25/some-gotchas-when-using-asp-net-mvc-with-entity-framework-code-first/ want is to use a database to store Persons in it. So we start by creating a class called Person. Each instance of the Person class will be a row in a table and each property will be a column in the table. Right click the Models directory in the Solution Explorer and add a new class, Person.cs. The class should look like this: … using System.Data.Entity; namespace MVCData.Models { public class Person { public string Name { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public int Age { get; set; } } public class PersonDbContext : DbContext { public DbSet

Misc. fixes to validation in date-based form fields, as well as better formatting of dates in non-default locales. Upgrading Notes Important: If you are running PHP as FastCGI with Apache Your development environment, or production web host may be running PHP as FastCGI with Apache. If this is the case, there is a regression in 2.4.3 which will break your site. There are two ways to resolve this problem: Don't upgrade to 2.4.3 for now, until 2.4.4 is released Patch the assets/.htaccess file like this: http://open.silverstripe.org/changeset/113809 This does NOT affect IIS, or other web servers that don't understand .htaccess files. If you're not sure whether PHP is running as FastCGI in your server environment, please check the output of phpinfo(). The easiest way to do this is to open mysite/_config.php and add phpinfo() to the bottom of the file, then browse to your site to see the environment information.
