I can hear the sound but see no MP4 video with Quick Time player (version 7.5.5). I had the same problem with Windows Media Player 11 but now when I installed ffdshow Video Decoder that started to work. But it did not help Quicktime. And selecting safe mode does not help, nor selecting legacy codecs, nor trying DirectX chekboxes on the advanced tab.I could live with Windows Media Player but... My Adobe Photoshop and Britannica have been designed to use Quicktime player... Thus I need to get mp4 work with Quick Time.. 8-(If it is of any help to understand the case, the list below shows what relevant items Windows Media Player understands being installed on my PC.Windows Media PlayerVersion 11.0.5721.5230Operating SystemVersion: 5.1.2600 System Locale: en-us Service Pack: 3.0 User Locale: en-gb Build Lab: 2600.xpspsp3gdr.080814-1236 Geo ID: Finland Type: Workstation DRM Version: 11.0.5721.5145 Architecture: x86 Indiv V

Now...1.WMP11 will play Video from a file on my computer, but there's no Audio. 2. Try playing a CD and up comes:"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." *
