Hiten has answered about this in some other site i http://thedailyreviewer.com/dbsoftware/view/sql-2000-clustered-server-error-communication-link-failure-107474022 This is the cluster resource manager logging a preliminary LooksAlive\IsAlive failure. Your SQL Server is likely getting very busy and not responding to the cluster heartbeat within the normal timeout period. The subsequent checks do get a response so the cluster does not fail over. I would make sure your data and tempdb files are not autogrowing (preset the sizes when you know there will be lots of data added) and verify your cluster network settings meet best practices guidelines.
