I have an 07 PreRunner with OEM (A51837) 6 disc cd changer that started giving the "Error-1" message a couple days ago. There was nothing sparatic about it, just stopped working. I've read about the error relating to dirty/damaged disc but his is not the case, these are new discs (not burned). I have tried the resolutions below with no luck. Aside from replacing the unit, does anyone have any tips or knowledge on what the repair steps are for the unit? Or perhaps any further troubleshooting tips? -checked/cleaned discs -ejected & reinserted several times -disconnected battery for 10min -opened top of unit and manually cleaned lens Furthermore does anyone have an 07 OEM (A51837) for sale? I haven't had this problem in my Avensis but something did occur that was similar in my previous car. In this case the CD had been working perfectly and then came up with 'Code 03' when I inserted a disc. A quick check of the Entertainment Booklet showed that the Laser was dirty and needed a clean ....... inserted a cleaning disc and Bob's your Uncle ........ worked a treat. It could be a dirty laser or maybe a damaged disc ..... check the basics first and then, if it's still playing up, a telephone call to Mr T should identify the code and suggest a solution. Let us know how you get on.TeyaDog Share this post Link to post Share on other s
