I only have 1 jar file in the project, I have tried to remove it, and add it again, several times, and cleaned the project after this. I have updated ProGuard (I think), downloaded the new version, and replaced the lib folder as the threads on here said. My default.properties file looks like this: # This file is automatically generated by Android Tools. # Do not modify this file -- http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7555972/eclipse-conversion-to-dalvik-format-failed-with-error-1 YOUR CHANGES WILL BE ERASED! # # This file must be checked in Version Control Systems. # # To customize properties used by the Ant build system use, # "build.properties", and override values to adapt the script to your # project structure. # Project target. target=android-8 So can't comment anything about ProGuard which was also mentioned in another thread. I feel I have tried everything, and still this bug. One thing I have noticed though if I go to: window -> preferences -> android -> build. And uncheck "Force error when external jars contain native libraries". Then I get: "Can't resolve R" instead of the Dalvik error. There is no import named android.R either. Anyone with some help please? android eclipse dalvik share|improve this question edited Oct 4 '11 at 10:29 Idolon 17.9k86795 asked Sep 26 '11 at 13:39 Anders Metnik 2,48822449 add a comment| 8 Answers 8 active oldest votes up vote 19 down vote accepted This doesn't look like the issue with proguard, since it's not even enabled in your defaults.properties file. Try the following: Uncheck "Force error when external jars contain native libraries" option (just as you did) Select "Project -> Clean…" from the menu If that won't help ensure you have the correct R class imported. As stated at source.android.com: Eclipse sometimes likes to add an im

Every error 1 month orso, while exporting an Androidapplication to get an apk file, I see the mysterious message: “Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error code 1″. Information on what to do is easy to come by. I search Google on that phrase and get to anothergreat StackOverflow page with anexplanation.http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2680827/conversion-to-dalvik-format-failed-with-error-1-on-external-jarThe problem for me is that particular question /answer postis fairly long and points out that there are several different things you should try. Since I conversion to dalvik keep forgetting which of those work for me, I am posting ny standard steps for myself here.I work on a Macbook, run Eclipse, and Iusually do very well at keeping my Android environment up-to-date. Also, when I build I have Proguard set to run, which means I will see some unusual messages from time to time. Those tend to throw me off and forget what I should be doing. My StandardFixesI start with doing a clean build of the project with “Project – Clean”. I include the project and any projects it depends on.Then I check to see which Proguard I have installed. A new Proguard is required. Right now that is 4.11.Step 1 used to be all I needed to do. I’d do the “clean” build and then try to export again, and it would work. This last week, however, that did not help. The export would fail and the Console messages would indicate that Proguard was having trouble. There are, of course, lots of things that Proguard can report on, but these messages said that none of the classes of the app itself could be found. That did not make sense to me since I had built apk files for the very same app not long before. So that’s when the closer reading of the StackOverflow message paid off.
I just added IAB plugin to my project, I think I followed the instructions, took everything from my gideros installation folder:allplugins/iaband allplugins/googlebillingI removed everything unrelated to google, based on the table http://docs.giderosmobile.com/interface/iab#install_androidwhat I didn't do was Remove default Google Billing v2 plugin from exported project, as it may conflict with Google Billing v3 pluginbecause I didn't find anything named googlebilling before my intervention, and I assumed it was referring to an older version of gideros. Am I wrong? Should I remove something?I already have installed google play services and facebookSDK in the same project, the procedure was pretty similar I don't think I messed it up. :)I can run the app in debug mode on device with no errors, but every time I try to export the signed app it fails with messageconversion to dalvik format failed with error 1After searching on the internet I tried cleaning Eclipse cache, cleaning project from eclipse menu and restarting. No luck.Is there any chance to read where/what generate this error? I can't see any log message, just the popup window of failure :( Thank you ar2rsawseen January 18 +1-1 Maintainer Hello, can you paste the full error log? http://appcodingeasy.com/Gideros-Mobile ChrisF January 18 +1-1 Member Also make sure you have got 'enable modules' turned on in build settings. pie January 18 +1-1(+1 / -0 ) Member Thank you, SOLVED.In the end it was some kind of Eclipse bug/mess. \:D/ I managed to export without errors following this same procedure; copying it here for future reference: the only difference in what I tried before is that I unflagged "Build Automatically". - Uncheck the "Build Automatically" option in Project menu in eclipse. - Do project clean - And then, right click on the project name over here you will find "Build Project" option -Click the "Build Project" and now you can start export your project.taken from: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20017817/conversion-to-dalvik-format-failed-with-error-1-since-facebook-sdk Likes: SinisterSoft Sinister
