When you write Private da As SqlDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM tbl ValueSources", cs) it thinks that the arguments you gave are part of the type declaration. Use this instead, Private da As New SqlDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM tbl ValueSources", cs) This will call the constructor and should fix your error. share|improve this answer answered Jul 10 '13 at 16:04 Kratz 3,28032047 Thanks for your help! –user2539275 Jul 10 '13 at 16:06 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using
