Typical cause is memory. How much memory (DB Cache) did you set the db service for? Try 850000. Provided you have that much free. if not, reduce that number. babrown Fezih5 0 2009-6-8 8:57 AM In reply to babrown: I re-installed the navision server again and this time round allocated 850000 kb to cache. i have also made sure i have all the rights on the computer am using. Now the service is taking too long to start and even to stop. when i try to restart it it gives error 1053. Whats the solution to this? Fezih5 Juan Carlo Martinez 0 2009-7-10 8:36 AM Suggested answer Try these following solutions: 1. Go to the services.msc then go the properties of the services you've installed. On the Log On tab, Log On as must be "Local System Account". 2. Try to check the port number you've used. It may be already used by other services. 3. Double check the path of the services you've installed. Hope this would help you. Juan Carlo Martinez Click here to login or join to be able to reply and post new questions. I have installed a program called Navision Attain and am unable to start the service on the server. I currently have the whole 'Navision Server' running off my XP box as I am unable to use it on the server. I used to have Navision running on my server, but error 1 incorrect after I rebuilt it, I am unable to get it working again. I had a problem installing the program due to terminal server running on the server. Once I removed the Terminal Server Role, I was able to install it, but then I get stuck. When I tried to install the software whilst Terminal Server was running, it would get to about 95% and then roll back the installation, corrupting all my *.mmc files, I was thus unable to access the Event Viewer and other items. When I try to start the service I get the following error message - 'Could not start the Navision Attain Database Server ELMAIN service on Local Computer. Error 1: Incorrect function.' I am running the exact same program on my pc and all is well. I have looked at the path that the service is referring to and it is identical to my pc. I have tried the people who wrote the software, and they are of no help. They say that it is a Windows bug on my side. I have loaded all the service packs etc, so there is nothing missing. Does anyone have any suggestions why this would not be working, any help would be much appreciated. Also i have found some small comment that service has to be run with parameters - server and db name. But i can find the way to provide the parameters. Also i do not know how to do it properly.Maybe somebody had something related to it.Any info or example will be helpfull. Thanks in advance, Rodion. 26 октября 2009 г. 7:30 Ответить | Цитировать Все ответы 0 Нужно войти There are three "servers" used in NAV context:* Dynamics NAV Database Server* Microsoft SQL server* Dynamics NAV Application ServerFirst of all if you just want to look at demo version you haven't install any servers. It will be enough if you install classic client. If you want to install Dynamics NAV Database Server you should use manual "Installation & System Management: C/SIDE Database Server for Microsoft Dynamics NAV" (w1w1ism.pdf) xp_ndo.dll - is component required when you decide to use SQL Server, so you shouldn't register it. It uses in another way (look at w1w1isql.pdf for more information) And what about your error. As far as I can remember it appears when you try to use Dynamics NAV Application Server. This server used just for integration NAV with SharePoint, ADCS etc. And this server isn't necessary for demo. Manual for this server is w1w1atas.pdf. Application Server requires NAV Database Server or SQL Server. 29 октября 2009 г. 7:58 Ответить | Цит
