RE: Getting "Error -1" when trying to mount NFS norestore (TechnicalUser) 22 Nov 05 05:17 Hi,last week I had exactly the same problem with this "-1" error. It was caused by a wrong DNS entry! The NFS-server could resolve the clients name-to-address, but not reverse address-to-name.As soon as we had corrected the DNS, the mount worked.(You may also add local hosts-file entries, if you set "hosts=local, bind" in netsvc.conf)Regards, Martin Red Flag
Software: LabVIEW Development Systems Primary Software Version: 7.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Problem: I see an error message that states Error 1 (or error 1 occurred building shared library Error 6) occurred at Write to Text File in File Path - An input parameter is invalid when I attempt to run my VI. This occurs when I use the various File I/O sub VI's that require file path as an input. It appears that I am inputting a valid file path, but I continuously get this error. Why does this occur? Solution: The Windows file http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1154959 naming convention prohibits the use of certain characters in the file path that is eventually input to the File I/O sub VI's. This error is most commonly associated with backslash, colon, and other control characters that are unintentionally included when a string is converted to a file path - especially if a date is included in that string (i.e. 9/22/04). (The following characters should not be http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BB06ABD0261A9F2B86256F190049A620 present in any file name: \ / : * ? " < > |).Even if control characters are not visible in the input string they may still be present, but are easy to find. Connect either a control or indicator to the input string and enable backslash code display (select Properties » Display style by right-clicking the indicator). If you determine that control characters have been included, they can be replaced with a non-control character (such as underscore) by using the Search and Replace Pattern.vi located on the string sub-palette. Removing or replacing all of the control characters from the input string should remedy this error. Attached is a VI that demonstrates a solution that utilizes the Search and Replace Pattern.vi.This error could also occur if you specify a file name without a drive path inside a file path entry. You need to make sure that your drive path is included along with your file name (i.e. C:\filename or E:\filename). Confirm that the DNS you're pointing to has direct forward and reverse mappings for the host/server you're trying to configure. These mappings should be the exact host name you wish to use. In my case I'm behind a route using NAT so I made sure I had, for example, host.domain.com mapped to the local net IP addresses 10.0.1.4 and 10.0.1.3 (being the wired NIC and the wireless interfaces of my Mac Mini).2. Ran the changeip -checkHostName etc. etc as suggested by all the other posts as well as all the commands in the article OS X Server: How to reset Profile Manager to its original state - Apple Support confirming that the hostname was set correctly (and initially it was not. At first I still had host.local).However, even after those corrections I still had no luck.Check the Open Directory section of Server.app. I had a master listed there using the old hostname (host.local) instead of the FQDN host.domain.com. Luckily in my case I didn't yet have any data in the directory that I needed to keep and so could just delete it. Once I deleted this directory mast
