This discussion is locked Jona Bechtolt Level 1 (9 points) Q: Unknown Error (1611) During 1.1.1 Restore I've tried to upgrade and restore iphone error (-1) fix my iPhone to the new 1.1.1 software 6 times now and I keep itunes restore error 18 getting an unknown error (1611). Has anyone else received this error? I'm traveling abroad and there isn't an Apple restoring iphone firmware error 1 Store anywhere near me!I've been using Safari and Mail through WiFi so much and now the phone is just stuck on the Please Connect to iTunes screen. What do I do? until the battery is so weak that the restore will take place. When my iPhone, for no apparent reason, spontaneously goes into recovery mode, it will continue to try and reboot itself until the battery wears down. Then, and only then, will the restoration work. In the meantime I may lose as much as a day or so without my phone and it's information. This is extremely inconvenient. Since purchase in August, I would estimate that I am on my sixth or seventh recovery. My 1611 problems have certainly increased, for whatever reason, since the various iPhone updates. When the 'restore' mode flashes the 'connect to itunes' icon, I try it once, but if it is not successful (it almost never is the first time), I disconnect my iPhone from the computer, and let the battery wear down. Since the iPhone continues to flash alternately the gray Apple logo and the 'connect to iTunes" logo, this drains the battery eventually, which then displays a red 'low battery' icon. I then reconnect it to iTunes, and the restoration works. Only the data from my latest sync will be restored to my iPhone, but I can continu
