I have a ? regarding a run time error (1004) in VB for Excel. I have a macro that runs fine through Alt F8. I created a control button and attached the macro. When I use the control button I get run time error 1004 with the message that says "Select method of range class failed." I am new at VB and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance. http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?295812-Excel-VB-Run-Time-Error-1004-RESOLVED -Helene Last edited by Helene; Jul 6th, 2004 at 07:32 AM. Solution: do the .Copy after the .Add When doing a .Copy / .PasteSpecial, avoid doing anything in between. "The wise man doesn't know all the answers, but he knows where to find them." Hope this is a permanent fix. The first time i tried it it works but failed after repeated running. –Gibrilla May 6 '13 at 20:35 Change this line Set oWB = EDOffice1.ActiveDocument() to Set oWB = EDOffice1.ActiveWorkbook() if it allows you and try it? –Siddharth Rout May 6 '13 at 20:38 Also use proper error handling to check if oWB and oSheet are valid objects after you set them. –Siddharth Rout May 6 '13 at 20:40 No, it does not. It comes with the error "object does not support this property or method" –Gibrilla May 6 '13 at 21:09 I see. So in multiple runs what is the error that you get? –Siddharth Rout May 6 '13 at 21:10 | show 1 more comment up vote 1 down vote Maybe you are not inside a sheet code to call Cells without referencing the sheet. Try to identify the sheet you want to do that and use: Sheet.Range("F1").Formula = "=SUM(" & Sheet.Range(Sheet.Cells(2, 2), Sheet.Cells(25, 2)).Address(False, False) & ")" sha
