Error 1010: configuration registry key is invalid I am getting this error after downloading and installing, and trying to run the winsshd service today. I saw several posts with similar errors, but not quite the same. I could be wrong but I never saw the install complete. In the windows ebent log, I get the following:Event Source:WinSSHDEvent Category:NoneEvent ID:4097Date:5/2/2010Time:3:47:30 PMUser:N/AComputer:NEURONDescription:[000] WinSSHD 5.15: Configuration read attempt failed: WinSSHD configuration does not exist or is invalid. Use WinSSHD Control Panel or wcfg to apply valid configuration. WinSSHD will now shut down. - Error details: CreateFileW() failed: Windows error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.I also see the following:Event Type:ErrorEvent Source:WinSSHDEvent Category:NoneEvent ID:4097Date:5/2/2010Time:3:47:49 PMUser:N/AComputer:NEURONDescription:[278] WinSSHD 5.15: Error registering WinSSHD configuration change notification: FindFirstChangeNotification() failed: Windows error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.I have tried to uninstall -- but it won't let me uninstall either. I get the Bitvise Uninstaller dialog box saying:Uninistallation information is missing or corruptedReading DisplayName failed: RegOpenKeyExW() failed. Windows error 2: The system cannot find the file specifiedUsage: Uninst ProductNameUninstall completed. From one of the posts, I am inclined to think that the installation failed in the middle of the install ... I do not ever remember getting a message that the installation completed.I have tried to reinstall over the existing installation, and have tried to install into a different instance...same problem. So, now I am stuck with two instances that cannot be uninstalled, and nether instance of winsshd running, nor can I access the winsshd control window. David Harris Sunday, May 02, 2010 Deleting… Approving… I too am getting the same message. Although the service will start if I run it as a local system account. Mitch Tuesday, May 04, 2010 Deleting… Approving… Hello David, yes, it looks like WinSSHD is not getting installed completely on your computer. WinSSHD ins
