that the model number was for FIDO which is my carrier so decided to just reset the phone.Went into iTunes, said an update available, so from there ran the restore/update.Seemed fine then got the error https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/41846/Error+1015+on+itunes+at+restore. 1015 and the annoying screen showing the USB cable and iTunes logo came up and has been there 2 hours now.I tried re-running the restore on the PC, then tried on the MAC. As per some fixes I found online, I updated iTunes, restarted the computer and phone, even tried running 3rd party apps like 'RecBoot' and 'Error 1015 Fixer'. Nothing so far has fixed it.Kinda bummed, having had this phone https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2686899?tstart=0 only 2 days and bricking it doing a simple 'restore'. This is my only phone, no landlines, so for now, kinda screwed and thinking it was a waste of money. Any ideas? This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. I would recommend finding & deleting ALL .ipsw files on your computer. There should only be one, but delete ALL that you find. You will have to turn "Show All Hidden Files & Folders" on to see them. They are located here:OS X: ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software UpdatesXP: C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates7 & Vista: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software UpdatesTry to restore again after doing so. This will force iTunes to download a fresh copy of the OS. Make sure ALL firewalls & anti-virus are disabled

AdrianCubed Zealot Gold Joined: Jul 19, 2008 Likes Received: 39 I've got an iPhone 3G 16GB. It was jailbroken ages ago on 4.1 with 6.15.00 via Pwnage Tool. A few days ago I noticed my App store app and iTunes app were missing from the phone, and unable to be searched. I was unable to load apps onto the phone via iTunes as well. So I figured let me error 1015 kill two birds with one stone, and update from 4.1 to 4.2 jailbroken/unlocked and the subsequent restore would fix the Appstore Apps not showing up. I figured it would be straight forward. I was immensely wrong. Following iClarified's guide using PwnageTool for mac update/jailbreak/unlock to 4.2. I downloaded RedSn0w (latest) to no avail as well. The phone has bricked itself (Showing the USB to iTunes) screen. It wont restore, keeps giving Error 1015. Despite MANY attempts and videos error 1015 iphone and google searches, and using TinyUmbrella/iReb/Fix Recovery/Rec Boot. Restoring to custom firmwares, restoring to Stock firmwares. All have failed. I cant get the iPhone to even restore legit in iTunes. Frustrated, I tried to downgrade back to 3.1.3. Going as far as downloading Pwnage tool 3.1 the 3.1.3 ipsw and 3.1.3 Custome ipsw. Either I did something wrong, but it didn't work. Something about Bootneuter. Regardless. For the first time in my jailbreaking history I cant seem to fix this one myself. I need help, If I can just get this effin thing to restore then I can do the rest. #1 AdrianCubed, Feb 24, 2012 Sponsored Advertisement AdrianCubed Zealot Gold Joined: Jul 19, 2008 Likes Received: 39 ... anyone?! #2 AdrianCubed, Feb 25, 2012 Europa Moderator Senior Moderator Joined: Dec 12, 2008 Likes Received: 5,239 I already offered all of my suggestions via PM. I'd just keep trying to kick it out of recovery mode. Also, make sure it's in DFU mode. #3 Europa, Feb 25, 2012 AdrianCubed Zealot Gold Joined: Jul 19, 2008 Likes Received: 39 I GOT IT TO WORK! lol. Right, so what happens. I didn't need to use limerain, redsnow, or ANY of the recovery kick programs. After trial and error I figured the fact that the iPad baseband 6.15.00 is throwing the error, BECAUSE the iPhone is sending complicated message
