Using Safari on my iPhone, the ics file opens the calendar app as expected, and allows me to add to calendar. Using Chrome on my iPhone, I get "Download http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15972628/ics-file-download-fails-on-iphone-chrome-with-unknown-file-type Failed. Chrome cannot download this file. Error 102 (): Unkown File Type." I'm sending these headers: header("Content-Type: text/Calendar; charset=utf-8"); header("Content-Disposition: inline; filename={$slug}.ics"); header("HTTP/1.0 200 OK", true, 200); and my ics file output is: BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 CALSCALE:GREGORIAN PRODID:-//example.com//NONSGML blah blah//EN METHOD:PUBLISH BEGIN:VEVENT UID:20130412T062148-527420343@example.com DTSTAMP:20130412T062148 DTSTART:20130524T134500Z DTEND:20130524T153000Z LOCATION: SUMMARY:This is the summary DESCRIPTION:This is the description STATUS:CONFIRMED TRANS:OPAQUE END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR Any ideas about what iPhone Chrome isn't liking? iphone google-chrome mobile-safari icalendar mobile-chrome share|improve this question asked Apr 12 '13 at 13:26 SteveJ 19018 1 Have you learned anything about this? I'm trying to find a way around the same problem. –Solid I Jun 1 '13 at 15:23 1 From what I can tell, inter-browser incompatibility makes this impossible to deploy reliably across multiple browsers, at least for the time being. :( –SteveJ Jun 5 '13 at 2:58 I am having same issue can anyone let me know about any solution. –Jaffar Hussain Aug 12 at 13:49 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote most examples I see are in lowercase http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc1341/4_Content-Type.html try making that Content-Type: text/calendar not Content-Type: text/Calendar share|improve this answer answered May 11 '13 at 11:52 anmari 1,11

Unknown File Type Error - now what do you do? http://www.calgaryfcpug.com/editing-tips-and-tricks/7705-unknown-file-type-error-now-what-do-you-do.html 11 years ago #7705 Duane_Martin OFFLINE Executive Producer Posts: 5513 Karma: 9 My main edit system has been acting up a bit today (G4, FCP HD). I had left it capturing when I left for the weekend, and when I came back in I encountered an error message something like this... Unable to Autosave. Unknown File Type. Alright, no worries. I will just Save As a copy, and then straighten error 102 things out in the finder. Uh oh. No go. This time I received Error: Unknown File Type! Now I was in trouble. You see, though all of the media was safely captured to my drive, and starting a new project and simply importing my media was an option, I had made some detailed and helpful log notes. And if I simply force quit FCP and started a new project, those error 102 unknown log notes would be lost! Trouble shooting mode kicks into overdrive... for a second or two. I quickly realized the problem was likely a result of the Finder not communicating nicely with FCP. So I repaired Disk Permissions. No luck. Soon I thought, "hey, I have multiple drives hooked up to this edit suite, why not try saving to one of them?". Sure enough, saving worked fine. I then shut down FCP and restarted my computer (always recommended when things start acting strange), copied the saved project file to the proper bin, and set off to work again. Now if I could just get it to stop hanging up when copying and pasting. I think it is feeling neglected. I have been doing work on other peoples much newer systems as of late. Duane E.
