This is the error message that I receive. I've scanned the hard drive for bad sectors and found none. I've done two different memory tests on the RAM and found no errors. Does anyone have an idea? I've been having a lot of error 102 problems with my system crashing lately and have been searching like crazy trying to find a reason. I'm not the most technically sound person but through my reading I have managed to: -Check all of my memory physically and with memtest, as outlined in the sticky post. -Update my drivers to the best of my knowledge and ability. -Disabled my onboard soundcard and the other stuff that the sticky post said error 102 blackberry to do. From another thread I learned how to run event viewer and that's where I found out that this error the one I'm actually having. Before seeing the event viewer all I knew about my problem was what the blue screen said: A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears... I add several Windows 2003 R2 SP2 computers to Batch Patch, which also belong to the same domain. I am a domain administrator and have logged onto the XP computer with my account. When I select check for updates, I get an Error: -102 - Details in BatchPatch.log: ::Begin online search -102: Failed to execute the search. HRESULT: -2147012867 Can you please advise what I am doing wrong? Posted 4 years ago # doug doug firewind - -2147012867 ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT This error would occur when the target computers are not able to contact the update server. If you're using WSUS, make sure that the WSUS server is online and that the machines can connect to it. Also make sure that they are configured to connect to the WSUS server you're expecting them to connect to and not some other machine. If you're using Windows Update instead of WSUS, make sure the machines have access to the internet so that they can communicate with Microsoft's servers. As a starting point you can look at the "Actions > Get information > Get Windows update configuration" to confirm how the target computers are configured to receive updates. This action looks for the presence of the following key, which would get created if you're using Group Policy to configure the WSUS location/settings on the target computers. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\WUServer Additionally, please take a look at C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log on the target machines for additional information that might help find the culprit. Lastly, are you using any sort of proxy configuration on the target computers? Let me know how it goes. -Doug Posted 4 years ago # firewind Member Hi Doug, thanks for the reply. I have run the Get Windows Update Configuration and it's returned Microsoft Update, which is what I would have expected. We are using a proxy here. It
