I always get the following message: "Could not stop the Remote Access Connection Manager service on Local Computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator" I already tried to stop the Telephony service too, but without any success. The Remote Access Connection https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/959041 Manager depends on the Telephony service but there I get an error 1053. Has anybody an idea Meinhard Cannot stop Remote Access Connection Manager Responses to "Cannot stop Remote Access Connection Manager" Meinhard Brad Guest Posts: n/a Cannot stop Remote Access Connection Manager Posted: 12-02-2003, 11:34 AM Hi, In administration tools go to Services. a friend, using Netscape. It was working, and so I rebooted the computer. When Windows resumed, Internet was not working. I could connect to the service, and, debugging with HyperTerminal, the username and password were accepted. However, for whatever reason, I http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/remote-access-connection-manager.2189333/ could not access the internet. There was no connection. When I dialed the connection manually, through the Control Panel, it gave me the following error: 619 - The port is disconnected. No matter how I attempted to dial, there was never a connection. So, I called Netscape support. They walked me through a whole bunch of troubleshooting steps, and finally asked me to do one thing. They asked me if I could stop the "Remote Access Connection Manager" service. I error 1053 tried, and could not. It gives this error: "Could not stop the Remote Access Connection Manager service on Local Computer Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" So, I set the startup type to "Disabled" and rebooted. Somehow, the startup type was now "Automatic", and it was started! So, I re-set the startup type to "Disabled" and forcefully rebooted. No luck. I am still unable to access the Internet. Does anyone could not stop have any ideas?
