not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion Visual Studio Languages , .NET Framework > Visual C# Question 0 Sign in to vote Hi All, I created a basic windows service in C#. When i start it from AdministrativeTools/Services, error 1053 service timely fashion windows 7 this message pops up: "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request
Service Error 1053 Windows 8
in a timely fashion" I have .NET 3.0 on my machine with XP professional. I have read lot of info regarding this error, there are
Service Error 1053 Windows Server 2008
so many results for this error when searched but no appropriate fix.All they say if there is lot of logic inside OnStart(), which may consume more than 30 seconds, then you may get time out error. But that is not the case. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24228307/error-1053-the-service-did-not-respond-to-the-start-or-control-request-in-a-time The logic in my OnStart() should hardly take 1 second. In the function OnStart(), i go into a small loop to print 10 numbers to log. I have even tried spawning a thread and executing my logic in it. Then also the same error pops up. The progress bar showing: service starting is hardly for a second and then the time out error pops up. I am running the service under a particular user account, which is administrator on that machine. Is there anyway to get arround this error? My case is little bit different. Even thought the error displayed, my server process was actually running. However, its status showed as "Starting..." and I cannot stop, pause or restart my window service.I appreciate if you can give me an advice how to resolve this problem. Installing Framework 1.1 SP1 does not fix the problem as told on the MS Support page. Thanks,Locx Friday, June 27, 2008 4:32 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign i

I got some win services that do not launch (on startup and manually). I see a 1053 error in eventLog for 3 services (and got 1053 pop-up when i launch it manually) -spooler (print) -hamachi -interactive service detection (maybe this one is causing error 1053 the 2 others problem) i already installed all latest windows updates, i ran scans, anti malware, checkdisk, uninstalled a lot of programs, but the problem still exists. Thoses services launched succesfully on rare cases, but i don t know why (for exemple it worked just after the reboot when i uninstalled office but when i reboot again it's broken) Wednesday, January 23, 2013 1:10 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in error 1053 service to vote Hi, Please check to see if theresolutionin this KB is helpful. Thursday, January 24, 2013 8:43 AM Reply | Quote Moderator 0 Sign in to vote Hi, I already tried to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, and i'm not developping a service, i'm just using a printer and hamachi software. I also tried to uninstall/install several times my printer pilotes or hamachi software. Yesterday, my pc crashed and when i rebooted i had my 2 services working (i still have the error about interactive service detection in eventLogs), but if i reboot again, the problem is the same. I also tried to disable all but my 2 services using msconfig + reboot but the problem was still here. I can put my eventLogs in there if u want Thursday, January 24, 2013 9:24 AM Reply | Quote 1 Sign in to vote Hello Not sure if this will help, but, worth a try.
