Install Tomcat 6 as a service using the "service.bat" file or by composing your own command line options for tomcat6.exe (including the //IS// parameter). share|improve this answer answered Dec 7 '12 at 13:48 CoreTech 1,3901016 Thank you for your help, but not exactly tomcat as a service, but any service I create using sc.exe gives me the same error. I tried the same for VLC Player also. I got the same error-@CoreTech –user1602243 Dec 12 '12 at 4:40 2 Yes, that is because SC doesn't work on executables not explicitly written to be a Windows Service. If you give it a regular application, the service will fail with error 1053. You'll need a "service wrapper" (like Microsoft's Srvany) to adapt a regular application to run as a service. –CoreTech Dec 12 '12 at 4:59 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
