Error 1053 Windows 8
Server did not appear in the Component Services list. I installed InterBase 6.5 CD using the full installation. I rebooted. From the Windows Component Services list, I started InterBase Guardian and InterBase Server https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/886695 which started properly. When I tried to look at the properties for InterBase InterClient Server, a Configuration Manager dialog appears saying: The specified device instance handle does not correspond to a present device. When I press the start button for InterBase InterClient Server, an InterServer Dialog appears saying: The InterServer application failed to start because it is already running as a service. Then a second http://www.delphigroups.info/2/15/277628.html dialog apears. Microsoft Management Console says: Could not start the Interbase InterClient Server service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. I've unistalled and reinstalled the InterBase 6.5 CD several times. I've deleted all reference to interbase, interserver and interclient in the registry. Deleted system32\gds.dll Deleted the InterBase directory and InterClient subdirectory. It refuses to start the InterBase InterClient Server. I am running the JBuilder software and InterBase locally for doing my development. Any feedback as to why I am experiencing this problem would be appreciated. Thanks John Delphi Developer Sun, 03 Apr 2005 23:58:44 GMT Re:InterBase InterClient Server does not start It appears that this problem is due to Windows 2000 SP3. SP3 screws up the network information so InterBase InterClient Server was confused. I have removed SP3 since the microsoft news group microsoft.public.win2000.windows_update has numerous complaints about SP3. It figures Microsoft would{*word*222}things up.
