newly created host BizTalk Server > BizTalk Server General Question 0 Sign in to vote I am having a severe problem with my BizTalk 2006 hosts and host instances. If a host instance stops it cannot https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/886695 be started again. The error is "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." (WinMgmt). If I create a new host, then create a new instance of that host, and then attempt to start it. I get the same error. The User under which I'm running is an Administrator on the server and is a member of the BizTalk Admin group Attempting to https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fe2355ba-53c9-41d6-b27d-17cc43d57f37/cannot-start-instance-of-newly-created-host?forum=biztalkgeneral restart the Service in Services in the MMC gets the same error message: Services Could not start the BizTalk Service BizTalk Group: [Host Name] service on the Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. We have rebooted the server. I assume that this is a problem with the BizTalk databases in SQL Server (2005), which is running on the same server. Is there a way to resolve this? Friday, September 14, 2007 3:39 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Do you have MSMQ installed on the box? If so: After you receive this error message, the service for the BizTalk host instance is stopped. However, the SC tool may need two minutes or more to shut down the service. This problem occurs when a Microsoft Message Queuing receive location is enabled in BizTalk Server 2006.Additionally, an error message that resembles the following may be logged in the System log: Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7011 Description: Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the BTSSvc$BizTalkServerApplication service. You should take a look at the following KB. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928222 As a siden note, there are multiple
my Win XP Pro workstation, with a Startup Type of Automatic, but it won't start. I get a 1098 error - "The dependency service http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/message-queueing-service-will-not-start.2347646/ or group failed to start", but the Dependencies tab shows no errors. I http://forums.ipswitch.com/PrintTopic16261.aspx have a similar problems getting MSMQ to run on other Win XP boxes. I know for a fact that MSMQ used to run OK on at least one of these workstations, so I suspect this is a problem caused by one of the service packs, or a security patch. 10 Years Ago Last night our mail server did his usual dayly reboot. Usually, this results in no problems, and all services come up without incident. This time however, the IMail Queue Manager Service gives the above error message when started. It does not time out, but gives the error straight away. All other IMail services start without problems.I have tried reinstalling the software to no avail, it does not appear that the file queuemgr.exe is corrupt. Has anyone had this problem before? By Tripp Allen - 10 Years Ago It sounds like you have not activated; did you install about 30 days ago? By RamonB - 10 Years Ago Thank you Tripp, it was indeed so simple. We upgraded Imail a month ago to the newest version and did not activate it. All works fine again.I must admit that the error is a bit obscure though. There is nowhere a message about the activation not being done yet. By Tripp Allen - 10 Years Ago That's on our to-do list. The queue manager is a service so a pop up error wouldn't work real well. We do plan to add something to the admin interface to inform users of their activation status.
