When windows start, the NetWorker Remote Exec Service refuse error 1053 windows 10 to start. The service is set on auto mode but we get no message in event viewer. It's like if the service does not even try to start. The servers are windows 2003 r2 x86 and are running on vmware. All of them are running various notes domino service but we have some other domino servers that are ok.All of our servers have a mix of 7.4 sp3 and 7.5.1 clients. I've tried uninstalling networker client for windows and reinstalling without any change. We also tried upgrading the the 7.5.1 version which is the more recent version that we currently install. I've just saw that there is a 7.6 version but I don't think that the problem is the version of the software since we have like 500 servers running with version 7.4 sp3 and 7.5.1.I've searched the support forum in here but could not find any thread related to this bug.Any help would be helpful.ThanksJean-Francois Dupont 5590Views Tags: none (add) support Content tagged with support , for Content tagged with for , networker Content tagged with networker , windows Content tagged with windows 1. I have never come across this problem before and was wondering if anyone had any ideas we could http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/217051-46-error-1053-start-stop-services try. As I say, we are unable to run a virus scan, backup the server or do just about anything other than access files from the shares. I was having the same problem. I know it sounds crazy BUT... Check out the posts regarding the APC Powerchute software. Apparently some kind of java certificate is outdated, makes the whole services panel go crazy... Additionally, there is help for remedying the situation, involving changing the START value of the service in CURRENTCONTROLSET portion of the registry to 4, which apparently is disabled. Good luck! Basics - Stopping and starting NetWorker http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1606156 from the Windows command line Basics Feb 112009 I always like to know how to work with the command line, even on Windows. (As I say in my book, while a picture may be worth a thousand works, a GUI is not necessarily worth a thousand command line options.) error 1053 As such, when I want to stop and restart NetWorker on Windows, I find it faster on the command line than going to the services panel and scrolling through to the various processes. Note: All of these options are documented in the NetWorker and License Manager administration manuals, but as always, there's a difference between something that's documented and something you can find, error 1053 windows so I'm presenting these for those who are pressed for time. There are lengthy names for each of the NetWorker client service, NetWorker server service, and NetWorker Management Console server service which you may think would make it inconvenient to stop and restart from the command line, but thankfully there's shortcut names as well. These are: NetWorker Remote Exec Service: nsrexecd NetWorker Backup and Recover Server: nsrd EMC GST Service: gstd NetWorker License Manager: lgtolmd Now, if you're wanting to quickly stop everything, you can rely on process dependencies and run: C:> net stop nsrexecd /y That will shutdown everything, since everything relies on the nsrexecd (client) process in order to run. If you want to start NetWorker on a client, all you need to run is: C:> net start nsrexecd If you're wanting to start NetWorker on a server though, you should run: C:> net start nsrd There's a simple reason for this - nsrd relies on nsrexecd, so Windows dependency checking will start nsrexecd first for you. Similarly, if you want to start the management console on a Windows machine, you'd run: C:> net start gstd
