Manager Service”. It will let you know the function of this service. Note: Please paste the description here and let me know the installed server role and application. Then you need to enter the following command in the Windows PowerShell: Get-Service | Where-Object {$_.displayname –like “Request Manager Service”} And you could manually start the server in the Windows PowerShell: Start-Service -DisplayName “Request Manager Service” -Verbose Then post back the output result here to get further analysis. Currently, the Windows update service is stopped and will not start. It tries, but returns an error 1067. I have tried a number of KB fixes. The Eventvwr shows error x080080005 regarding the Update Server "Server execution failed." Nothing much else. SFC /SCANNOW reports no problems at all. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 outlines steps to potentially solve the problem, but has not solved it. Antivirus from MSE, MalwareBytes and Kaspersky have found 1067 error mysql no problems, although MSE is now a few days out of date, as I cannot update it due to this problem. I looked for any recently installed programs that might be badly behaving, but nothing has been installed within the last 30 days. I did choose to uninstall some much older programs of questionable value (odd brand PDF print tools). The computer had a problem where it thought software was "currently being installed", when in fact none was, but the use of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 seems to allow forcing me to deletions and actually fixed the Programs and Features component to allow uninstalling software just fine. However, the Windows Update from the control panel or from the Action Center still does not work because the update service will not start (as stated at the top of this post). I tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949104 but in safemode, it does not work, again because the service will not start. I used search to start "Identify and Repair", but that did not find any problems to resolve. Suggested next steps? A guide? A utility? Thanks, I'm headed to sleep. So, I typed in the command prompt: 'net start MySQL', and it gave me this error message listed in the subject line. Anyone know how to alleviate this? Thanks for your help! mysql xampp mysql-error-1067 share|improve this question edited Apr 26 '11 at 23:30 OMG Ponies 198k36356415 asked Jan 2 '11 at 6:01 Spencer B. 1181515 add a comment| 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote This did the trick for me: http://serverfault.com/questions/214435/error-1067-the-process-terminated-unexpectedly-when-trying-to-install-mysql-on/214846#214846 Of course, in this case, you have to completely clean up the xampp folder, which doesn't always happen. I guess I backed up the necessary files first (data folder from mysql folder and the htdocs folder). Uninstall XAMPP. Check the xampp folder for any content that remains and delete everything. You may want to reboot afterwards, just in case. Then reinstall XAMPP. Copy the backed-up folders back to their respective places, and hopefully, mySql will work again in XAMPP. share|improve this answer answered Aug 9 '11 at 14:44 Giraldi 6,73431521 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote In my case it was enough to give full (absolute) paths to the xampp/mysql/bin/my.ini file. For example I changed basedir from "/xampp/mysql/" to: "E:/xampp/mysql/", and so on. share|improve this answer answered Oct 4 '11 at 13:48 boryn 1088 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote This or this might help you, if you're on windows According to the posts, uninstalling then reinstalling with the --defaults-file option would fix the problem. Make sure to have the Services manager window closed, as this can cause weird bugs while trying to fix the problem share|improve this answer answered Jan 2 '11 at 6:08 Famver Tags 1,3251117 1 Do I do that from the command prompt, or within the Services box? –Spencer B.
