You can find what is the main reason of problem in new log files that are produced in the Program Files\ApacheDS\instances\default\log For example I have this problem after change the log level, I found the main error is ERR_250_ENTRY_ALREADY_EXISTS ou=system already exists! And this is an open issue in the ApacheDS https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1954 Hope this help you! share|improve this answer answered Dec 16 '14 at 7:01 Mohamad Kouhi Moghadam 10918 add a comment| Did you find this question interesting? error, apache tomcat 6 error 1067, apache tomcat error, apache tomcat service error / Error 1067 unable to stop apacheds - default. The Process Terminated Unexpectedly Apache Tomcat 6 Error 1067 The Process Terminated Unexpectedly Apache Tomcat 6 and you are not able to start the tomcat service. Cannot http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17651546/issue-in-starting-apache-ds start apache tomcat6 service because the process terminated unexpectedly, you will see this error if you have installed apache tomcat6 on Microsoft Windows 2003 server along with JRE1.6 and the scenario will be the installation of multiple JRE and JDK installed on that respective system. Despite of doing everything the service will never be in https://www.windowstechupdates.com/error-1067-the-process-terminated-unexpectedly-apache-tomcat-6/ running mode until you fix the error. Fix of this error is very simple and easy, First of all check if the java installed on the system is working fine. You can check it by going to command prompt and entering the following command: java or java –version if you get the answer given as under: U:>java Error occurred during initialization of VM java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object To resolve this issue go to configure properties of the apache tomcat6 and change the path of the working JRE. This will be the configuration only for Apache Tomcat 6 and will not effect the whole system. If you like to change the complete settings of the system, please go to system properties, advanced and environment variables and change the JAVA_HOME path and path variables. « Adding New Area and Iteration in Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2008 » Free Web Hosting From Media Temple Leave a Reply Cancel Your Name *Your Email *Your Website © Windows

as a service should only be done once you can successfully run it in a console window. See Using Apache with Microsoft Windows before you attempt to install or run Apache as a service. Changes to the httpd.conf file should always be followed by starting Apache as a console window. If this succeeds, the service should succeed. NOTE: Prior to version 1.3.13, the configuration was not tested prior to performing the installation, and a lack of service dependencies often caused the console window to succeed, but the service would still fail. See below if you are having problems running a version of Apache prior to 1.3.13 to resolve the issue. If you have this problem with version 1.3.13 or greater, first try uninstalling (-u) and re-installing (-i) the Apache service. To start Apache as a service, you first need to install it as a service. Multiple Apache services can be installed, each with a different name and configuration. To install the default Apache service named "Apache", run the "Install Apache as Service (NT only)" option from the Start menu. Once this is done you can start the "Apache" service by opening the Services window (in the Control Panel), selecting Apache, then clicking on Start. Apache will now be running, hidden in the background. You can later stop Apache by clicking on Stop. As an alternative to using the Services window, you can start and stop the "Apache" service from the command line with NET START APACHE NET STOP APACHE See Controlling Apache as a Service for more information on installing and controlling Apache services. Apache, unlike many other Windows NT/2000 services, logs any errors to it's own error.log file in the logs folder within the Apache server root folder. You will not find Apache error details in the Windows NT Event L
