When I try to start squid from "cmd" (as administrator) I get an system error 1067 has occurred oracle error message such as; "The Squid service could not be started A system error has occurred System error 1067 has occurred message The process terminated unexpectedly" To solve it I tried: setting "http_port" to 80 and 8080 disabling user account control settings. and followed the instructions on this website: Configuring a Basic Reverse Proxy in Squid on Windows However, none of the solutions worked. Therefore if there is any other solution you might know it would be great. I'd imagine that Squid is failing to start properly and choking on your configuration file. If you attempt to start Squid from a command prompt (versus starting the service) you'll get some more verbose output about the error. If memory serves you will need to specify the url_rewrite_program with the syntax: url_rewrite_program C:\\Python27\\python.exe C:\\Squid\\scripts\\1.py This will escape the slashes, which is what I expect Squid is choking on. share|improve this answer answered Feb 7 '13 at 21:32 Evan Anderson 127k12144286 1 Alternatively, use forward slashes instead (/). –longneck Feb 7 '13 at 21:43 can you point me to some script examples for url_rewrite_program ? –bit8bug Feb 9 '13 at 8:41 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sig
