Error 1067 Service Won't Start
has stopped working. The process has been terminated unexpectedly. Why is this so hard to the distributed transaction coordinator service on local computer started and then stopped start? I've even been to component services and went through the steps of Computer, then My Computer and expand the DTC tree, the distributed transaction coordinator service started and then stopped but when I do there's nothing to expand. When I click on My Computer properties and check the MSDTC tab there's nothing but a line with a checkbox that is about Local Coordinator and the COM Security tab https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/0ebd2d57-be60-4d71-9385-fcbb38f89c70/msdtc-startup-error-distributed-transaction-coordinator-on-virtual-machine-windows-server-2008?forum=winservergen does not have the right things in it when I click that tab. If theres anything anyone can do to help me to get this started I'd greatly appreciate it.I've even browsed the registry and everything for MSDTC seems to be there. It goes to starting then stops and terminated unexpectedly. This really bugs me that it won't start. One of the replies in there was talking about start parameters, but didn't elaborate. If you have anything else for me to try feel free to pass it along. When I go to the event viewer this is the error message that I have got: service error 1067 "A critical error occurred in an MS DTC component therefore the process is terminating. The category field identifies the component that encountered the error. Please contact Microsoft Product Support. is refusing to start MSDTC automatically on startup. WHen I go into services abd try to start it returns the error "1067 process terminated unexpectedly" Looking in events I get an error like this: A Critical error occurred in an MS DTC Componenet therefore the process is terminating. Does anyone have a clue as to what this is? EventID.net has nothing, and I can't find a reference for it in the MS KB database. -- Thank You, Mikego Mike Go, Jan 17, 2005 #1 Advertisements Jerry zhao Guest Hi Mikego, Thanks for posting here! From the description, I understand that you cannot restart your MSDTC. If I'm off base, please let me know. Based on my research, this issue may have many possible causes. Let's try the following steps and see what happens: 1. Flush Data for MSDTC, (a).- Open the Component Services console (b). -Click on Computers (c).- Right click on My Computer and select Properties (d).- Select the MSDTC tab and click on Tracing Options (e).- Click in sequence: Stop Session, New Session, Flush Data, OK, OK (f).- Restart the DTC service 2. Try to use other way to restart the service, (a). Click "Start", point to "All Programs", point to "Administrative Tools", and then click "Component Services". (b). In the Component Services Wizard, expand "Component Services", and then double-click "Computers". (c). Right-click "My Computer", and then click "Properties". (d) Click the "MSDTC" tab, and then click "Start". 3. Scan for virus Please update the anti-virus application and scan for the virus.
