The only problem is that after it is installed, it will not start, generating the error above. I have tried to diagnose what the problem is, but can't seem to find any useful information as error 1067 the to why it is quitting. I have tried the same service on a non "R2" 2008 server, and it worked fine. The service works in conjunction with our web application; it updates the application's database to reschedule activities. As I am not a programmer, I can't express what exactly it is doing. Has anyone had any experience troubleshooting this type of problem, where there are so few clues? Backup Exec was installed to backup everything onto tape drives and had been working great for 5 years. We installed a new DC to take over everything except Exchange which went smoothly. Within Symantec Backup Exec 2010, I changed the job to include the network location of the shared folders that were now located on the new server. Tested the job and everything worked. I let the job run over the weekend and typically it would only take ~10 hours to back it all up, came in monday and it was still running (Friday to Monday and still not done backing up). I paused the job and then canceled it so I could remove the network location from the job - all of that went just fine. Closed Backup Exec 2010 and reopened it, now the Backup Exec 2010 Server service won't start due to "Error 1067: The Process Terminated Unexpectedly." I have.. rebooted - no change Tried starting the service in services.msc - same error Tried refreshing permissions - no change Tried creating new admin user - no change checked policies (from directions on this site) - they were all correct restarted all services - same error Any other suggestions?
