MySQL typically writes something to the Application log. In very rare cases it does not write anything (I'm only aware of one particular bug http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=56821, where services did not work at all). There is also error log file, normally named .err in the data directory that has the same info as written to windows error log. share|improve this answer answered Feb 7 '11 at 19:39 Vladislav Vaintroub 3,2331119 add a comment| up vote 14 down vote You need to: stop the MySQL service: Open mysql path\data Remove both ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1. Restart the service share|improve this answer edited Mar 13 '14 at 20:11 Lucas Zamboulis 2,25151725 answered Mar 13 '14 at 19:47 mohsen.rmz 14112 This really isn't a good solution as it will delete most (if not all) tables from your database. –tjhorner May 4 '14 at 20:55 This worked for me and my database tables didn't got got deleted. –Hyder B. Aug 22 '14 at 10:23 This worked for me, and no data loss. The files are recreated on restart. on Windows the delete files is at ProgramData. I don't know the reason. –zeddarn Oct 26 '14 at 17:48 Thanks a lot mate. You saved me..! –smashIT Apr 28 '15 at 12:51 Very helpfull answer.... &ndash
can run MySQL or install the MySQL service, otherwise you'll get Error 1067. First let's open up the command prompt. Navigate to your MySQL install folder and find http://mydailytech.com/how-to-fix-mysql-error-1067/ wherever mysqld.exe is. Then run this: mysqld -remove MySql That will uninstall the MySQL service. Now reinstall the service with the defaults-file parameter: mysqld -install
