installing MySQL 5.1.51 from sources as a Windows service. Used compiler - Visual Studio Express 2008. Tried both Debug and Release configurations. The error (*.err) file is created, but is empty. http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?164896-Error-1067-on-MySQL-with-XP-units-Service-will-not-start When i start mysqld.exe --standalone, it starts and works correctly. If I replace an executable compiled by me with the executable from the bimary distributions (only mysqld.exe, leaving everything else unchanged), then the service starts successfully. How to repeat: 1. Download sources (MySQL Community Server -> 5.1.51 -> Generally Available -> Source Code). 2. Used configuration: configure WITH_INNOBASE_STORAGE_ENGINE 3. Compile with Visual https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=57614 Studio Express 2008 4. Install the server as a Windows service. Expected result: service is running. Got result: 'Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly', and service is not running. Suggested fix: I've traced the server and found a bad behaviour in the reopen_fstreams() function in the sql/log.cc file. It currently contains the following lines: if (outstream) { stream_fd= _fileno(outstream); if (_dup2(handle_fd, stream_fd) < 0) { CloseHandle(osfh); return TRUE; } } After compiling with VS Express-2008, I see that outstream is not NULL, but _fileno() returns -2. MSDN says this is the expected behaviour if stdout is not assosiated with a stream, for example, in a Windows application without a cosole window: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zs6wbdhx(v=VS.90).aspx Now, having the stream_fd equals -2, the subsequent call to _dup2() returns -1 (and sets errno=9), because -2 is an invalid handler. Having this, reopen_fstreams() returns true, and the server terminates. As a quick fix, i've tried to add an additional check: if (outstream) { stream_fd= _fileno(outstream); if(stream_fd>0) { if (_dup2(handle_fd, stream_fd) < 0) { CloseHandle(osfh); return TRUE; } } } After this the service starts normally, but this "fix" leads t
server on MySQL Posted by Manejando datos in MySQL As I already wrote here, a week later after reporting this bug (because I change the datadir property on the config file my.ini) I didn't have a solution for http://www.manejandodatos.es/2015/03/solution-to-error-1067-cant-start-the-server-on-mysql/ error 1067 Can't Start service on MySQL 5.6.10. Now, you can read how I solve it!! How the error 1067 araise If you would like to raise the error, jsut install a MySQL 5.6.10 server, and modify https://cyleft.wordpress.com/2008/07/20/fixing-mysql-service-could-not-start-1067-errors/ the path where data is saved on the config file. Easy!! Error 1067 can't start the service Trying in a new machine A pesar del error, uno siempre piensa que puede ser problema de la máquina. error 1067 así que …. ¿que tal probar en alguna máquina sin ningún servidor MySQL instalado previamente? ¿No podrá fallar, no? How I solve Error 1067 Can't start the service The clue for solving the error was given by [12 Mar 12:26] Sveta Smirnova! Have you tried to start the server directly with no service? It was strange, because I was receiving the message that I was modifying the incorrect file, but … it can't be!! I checked several times!!! Starting MySQL directly So, after using the right command, the server started, but when creating the servcice, the server raise the error. So, the problem was due to the creation of the service! Let verify the server can be access corectly if it is started win no service, using HeidiSQL: Using MySQL Let stop the server with the command: mysqladmin -u root shutdown. Parando MySQL The service is not being created correctly And … that's where the error is. Creating the service should be done with a username not valid. It should be a local username, but the install process created the service with another user. So, let's open services: services.msc The Error 1067 Can't start the service is due to the user that creates the service Next, let open the MySQL service, where the problem is: Servicio MySQL Move to the Start Session tab: Usua
a service, like so C:\mysql5_x64\bin\mysqld-nt.exe --install-manual You might try to launch the service from the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services Window. But if you're getting the error message: ‘Could not start the MySQL service on Local Computer Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.' Running from the command line: C:\mysql5_x64\bin\mysqld-nt.exe --console Should work fine. So what's the problem? Well, you may be missing your my.ini file. Create the file (you can copy one of the defaults that come with it such as my-small.ini), and make the following changes by adding the basedir & datadir lines, so it looks something like this: # The MySQL server [mysqld] ################################### basedir=C:/mysql5_x64 datadir=C:\mysql5_x64/data ################################### port = 3306 socket = /tmp/mysql.sock If you try to launch the service again, you should feel alot happier. Some of the readers have put in some helpful comments, which I'll include here Take a look at your error log by looking in: “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\MySQL\" Then click on the "MySQL Server X.X\" folder and then "data\" Find the file [MY-DOMAIN-NAME].err and open it using notepad Another possible cause of the 1067 error might be faulty my.ini settings. … So the general tip from me would be: Try to think of any reconfigurations you’ve done recently. That might be what’s causing this. --ChromaWoods We were getting a 1067 error because (we think) we’d been unable to successfully complete a reinstall after mixing up the original root password [on the mysql server]. Our solution in the end was to _completely_ uninstall MySQL and reinstall. The tricky part is that the uninstall requires three steps: 1. Uninstall via Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. 2. Delete the Base directory — likely C:/Program Files/MySQL 3. Delete the Data directory — likely C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/MySQL Finding the Data directory may be a bit tricky, since the Application Data folder is hidden by default. If you change your Folder Options so you can view the Application Data folder and still cannot see it, type the path (from step 3) into Run from the Start Menu to open the folder. Once you’ve uninstalled MySQL and deleted these two folders, you should be ready to start fresh! … Like this:Like Loading... Related my.inimysqlservice Post navigation Previous PostAdministr
