(This includes checking that they don't conflict with another server that you already have running);(c) If you're running the service under an account name, ensure that the password that you specified for the account is still valid. Also, go to the Windows Event V

the above message.any ideas to fix this ? Thanks Jag Hello Jag, First off, take a look at the OBIHOME\server\Log\NQServer.log file and that might give you some ideas. I http://www.betterdevelopers.com/article/45517475/Could+not+start+the+Oracle+BI+server+service+on+local+computer+-+error+1067 am not that familiar with the 'error 1067', so a little more info might help here :) Borkur Hi Borkur, Thank you for replying.i appreiciate that.however, i don't see that logfile in that directory.i only see the NQScheduler.log file with some errors. Thanks Jag Hi Brokur, upon looking at the event viewer log, heres what it says.... The description for Event ID ( 21 ) in error 1067 Source ( Oracle BI Server ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: [nQSError: 46078] Cannot open file: C:\OracleBI\server\Config\NQSConfig.INI.. hopefully this will error 1067 the a give a clue.... As the user who runs the service, do you have full access to the directories: C:\OracleBI\ and C:\OracleBIData\ ? Can you read the file it is complaining about: C:\OracleBI\server\Config\NQSConfig.INI ? This is a very important file, that tells the BI server what to load and how to configure the server. My guess is that it's simple access permissions problem. Make sure you can read browse all the directories and that the file exists (and is readable). I have had some issues like this where my user didn't have access rights to the directory and nothing got started. Borkur Hi Brokur, i do have admin rights.but i do not know how this could have happened.thanks for looking into this. Thanks Jag Jag, What do you mean by that? Is it working now? Does the file exist? The error message suggested that a) the configuration file was missing or b) It couldn't be read by the service at startup. If you installed the software as userA and then are try
