Now when I try to start Device & Media, Job Engine and Backup Exec Server services, I get this 1068 error, with 7001 and 7023 error logs in Event Viewer. Did some research.... I checked these 2 issues: - Made sure the MSSQL$BKUPEXEC service was started - Checked folder permissions on the Veritas folder under Program Files I found the suggestion below but, there is no Bewinui.ini file. I did this same thing, change the service logon accounts, on a server running BE 8.6 and had no problems. Any suggestions? ----------------------------------- This error message can also

We deinstalled the old Backup Exec 8.5 version and installed Backup Exec https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Exec/Backup-Exec-servcies-not-starting/td-p/540002 2010. Everything worked just fine. We then renamed the server (hostname) - still everything fine - jobs ran. We ran LiveUpdate - funnily, BE 8.5 & 2010 were displayed. We selected just the 2010 and installed all 10 updates. After rebooting the server, the BE services no longer started. We deinstalled and reinstalled BE 2010. Everything fine - but as soon as we run a LiveUpdate and install the updates, BE services no longer start. Any ideas what the problem could be? Solved! Go to Solution. Otherwise, if you have domain admin rights on your account, use BEutility.exe to change the BESA to use your account as a test and see if it starts up. The other thing to check is to ensure that any AV running on that server isn't perhaps blocking the BE services,a nd if so, put in exclusions for th

They grumble that some dependencies won't start, but of course they don't say what dependencies they're having trouble with. Error message: 1068 The problematic services http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=738716 are Agent browser Job engine All the other BE services work just fine, including SQL. If anyone can give me a list of dependencies I'll run those down too, error 1068 preferably with a cement truck. Thanks, -Todd Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Experience with Backup Exec 2010? Go to Services and then open the properties of error 1068 the the service that failed and discover the dependencies. Those services probably use the BackupExe user to run the services. 1 Jalapeno OP Hennepin Jun 13, 2012 at 4:29 UTC They do indeed list a tremendous amount of material in that tab, most of which doesn't make any sense. 0 Serrano OP tlam2833 Jun 13, 2012 at 4:39 UTC @Hennepin, Are you restarting these services in BE itself? In anycase, the most common problem with services not starting properly is a permission problem with the user trying to start the service. see the following symantec doc about BE service account. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH23689
1 Thai Pepper OP Jeff9151 Jun 13, 2012 at 4:39 UTC Hi Hennepin, It lists the dependent services, so look at the other services and check the Logon tab and make sure you have the password reset if it list your BackupExe user. I listed the Backup Exec services on my server. 1 Cayenne OP Symantec Matt JunCase and Cooling Fetish CPU & Motherboard Technologia Mobile Computing Outpost Networking Matrix Other Hardware Agora Classifieds Ars DIY Forum (Name TBD!)
