When you fire SQLSERVERAGENT, by default, it tries to start MSSQLSERVER.In this post 9/21/2004 10:00:44 AM Re: Error starting Windows service created in c# States:Sorry no good news here, but we have seen similar issues with .Net based services that are running under a non-priviledged account. Is the service running under a non-priv account, or as LocalSystem? One thing to try would be to run sysinterals Filemon utility during start up and see if there are any file permissions problems detected (access denied, file not found, etc.). You need to check the account on the MSSQLSERVER service as well as the SQLSERVERAGENT. Note that you want adminsitrator rights on the server. You wouldn't need them if you could do it from the front end. (I jsut hashed this out in this Test server thr

An error 1068 - (The dependency service or error 1068 sql group failed to start.) occurred while performing this service operation on the MSSQLServer Service. An error 1068 - (The dependency service or group failed to start.) occurred while performing this service operation on the SQLServerAgent Service. Upon checking in services.msc i found that the service was running in domain account . i changed it to system account and then it started working. But i found that changing the service account from services console rather than enterprise manager, some of the permissions may not be set correctly. Since enterprise manager was not opening , because of the said error, i had to do it thro services.msc. Now the db is working fine and my app is also working fine. I just wanted to know whether it creates any problem in future? 0 Question by:venkataramanaiahsr Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 29 Active today Best Solution byRandy Downs Since it's working now, I doubt you will have any future issues.
