I consulted Mozilla & deleted applnit.dll; it made no difference. Still doesn't work. Stephen R., Aug 16, 2010 #4 Stephen R. Thread Starter Joined: Jul 16, 2004 Messages: 18 Update 2: I went to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and made sure that the Clipboard was set to Automatic Startup. Then I looked in Properties and saw that the service was Stopped. I clicked on Start and got the message: "Could not start the Clipbook service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." I have no idea what the "dependency service or group" means, but this seems to be the root of the problem. Solved Clipboard problems + how to fix error 1068 the dependency service WinXP Posted on 2007-03-15 Windows XP Windows OS 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 1,886 Views Last Modified: 2012-06-27 I have a WinXP machine that I have noticed the Clipboard stops working on - When I copy https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-clipboard-doesnt-work-in-browsers.942984/ something and then Paste it, nothing pastes. I've noticed that the ClipBook service fails - but isn't this only for sharing information from remote computers? Upon trying to re-start the ClipBook service I get an error saying that the service could not be started: "error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start" Any ideas why the ClipBook service stops on its own? I've also tried the clpsrv.exe command which renders https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22452866/Clipboard-problems-WinXP.html no results. Any ideas? 0 Question by:JWeb Admin Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 1 Best Solution byAnomali go to Start > Run type services.msc and hit Enter. It will pull up a list of services available on your PC. Right click on ClipBook and click Properties. It will open a new window, click the tab that says Dependecies. It should say Network DDE. Back in your main Services window go to Network DDE and make sure that it is enabled. Once this service is enabled it should allow ClipBook to function. That said, on my machines both ClipBook and Network DDE are disabled, and I still have no issues with Copy/Paste commands. You're just trying to copy and paste files/folders on a local machine correct? 0 LVL 1 Overall: Level 1 Windows XP 1 Windows OS 1 Message Expert Comment by:Anomali2007-03-15 I dug this up from the web, try this and see if it helps. http://www.easydesksoftware.com/com

the CLIPBOOK service. When trying to start the service we receive the error: "Could not start the ClipBook service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." Nevertheless, we can start the ClipBook Viewer, but it only shows the current clipboard. The "Window" menu does not show an option for displaying the "Local ClipBook," but does show an option for showing the clipboard. The ClipBook Viewer HELP says there should be a "Local ClipBook" option on the "Window" menu for selecting the local ClipBook. Can anyone help us resolve this problem? Shouldn't the Clipbook already exist in Windows XP Professional? We still cannot open our local clipbook f
