Checkpoint Vpn Error 1075Multiple identical twin laptops have no problem. Best suggestion so far has been to leave the domain and rejoin it, BUT the relevant buttons are grayed out and the comment error 1075 the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion says "Note: The identification of the computer cannot be changed because:- The Workstation service is not running. Open the Services snap-in (services.msc) to ensure it is running and set its Startup Type as "Automatic"." In services.msc the Workstation service is already set to Automatic but is not started. When I try to start it manually the response is "Windows could not start workstation service error 1075 the Workstation service on Local Computer." and then "Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion." Rebooting gets me nowhere. In all other respects that laptop appears fine and can connect to the Internet, but NOT to the network. I have brought it and a twin laptop home to try on my domestic network and get the same results. Any ideas, please? I cannot wait any longer and hence I have taken an image from the working twin laptop and put that onto the problem machine. I then changed the Windows license key and the Computer Name to the correct ones. It worked in Windows 7. location: microsoft.com - date: March 1, 2012 Hello, In Windows 8 I have a problem with the VPN Connection, in W7 this worked just fine. I installed it yesterday and I can't get the VPN to work properly (appears error 691 when I write my credentials). What I have done: Add VPN - Select Server (everything like I do in W7). Then I open the connection and input the username and password (they are correct) and when the VPN service error 1075 connects to the server after some time gives the error 691, "The remote connection was denied .... [your password, username or authentication protocol maybe wrong". I have used the same process in both w8 and w7 but I can't get it to work in W8 (even matching vpn security configs of the both OS's). Need help! Frustratingly the connection worked initially but I must have changed something while setting up all my stuff on here since then and I now get error 807 when trying to connect. I have checked the internet and tried various solutions suggested but nothing has worked. I can ping the VPN server but when I try to telnet to it via port 1723 it fails even though I have disconnected the Windows firewall and disabled AVG. I only have limited IT knowledge but would really appreciate any suggestions that would help. video help | post reply | read more Windows 8 Consumer Preview VPN Problem ERROR 691. I am using a Dell E6510 laptop computer running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS. I can get this VPN to run and connect when I use Microsoft's XP virtual machine sitting on the Windows 7 desktop but I cannot get it to run on the Windows 7 desktop by itself. Although the VPN seems to load without incident the ***ociated icon "key" does not appear in the notification tray at the lower right. It does appear in the XP virtual machine and on a separate HP desk top running Vista. When I type services.msc at the Win 7 command prompt I get a list of all the loaded services including the CheckPoint VPN. It is at this point when I try to start the VPN I get the 1075 error. When I check the dependencies under the VPN I find the "CheckPoint Office Mode Module" and the "VPN-1 Module". How do I determine if these dependencies are causing the 1075 error message? What steps do I need to take to resolve the error message so the VPN will start?
