(Error 1075) 13 Jul 2012 #1 alebcay Windows 7 x86 20 posts DHCP Client Service FAILS TO START! (Error 1075) Hello, On https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/915162 July 12th 2012, my computer installed updates. After rebooting and waiting for me on the login screen, I gave it a hard shutdown to check on the BIOS settings (for a little side project, in the end I did not save any changes). After booting and logging in again, I find that many services are not running. I ran a very thorough check for malware and http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/240310-dhcp-client-service-fails-start-error-1075-a.html viruses (took over 24 hours to complete), and still no solutions. I have uninstalled/reinstalled my Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver several times. I now look in the Event Viewer and find that the DHCP Client service is not running! It is set to automatic start in Services.msc, but when I try to manually start it, it gives me error 1075 (some dependencies do not exist or are marked for deletion). Running ipconfig, I notice that my system is using an APIPA-formatted address (169.254.x.x), indicating that the computer couldn't find a DHCP server. My Event Viewer is peppered with: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Event 7003, Service Control Manager The DHCP Client service depends the following service: Afd. This service might not be installed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Event 7001, Service Control Manager The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service service depends on the DHCP CLient service which failed to start because of the following error: The dependcy service does not exist or has been marekd for deletion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ And that keeps repeating many times in a minute (about 30-40 cycles of it). Has anyone experienced this before, and does anyone know how to fix this (and in the end, may this require a reins

How to Flush DNS in Windows Using the Command Prompt Step 1 – Close all open web browsers and applications on your computer. Step 2 – Open the Windows command prompt by selecting the “Start” menu and then go all programs, accessories, then right click command and run as admin. Step 3 – At the command prompt, enter “ipconfig /flushdns” followed by pressing the “enter” key. After a moment, Windows will display a message similar to: “Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.” Once the message is displayed, the DNS will be flushed removing all incorrect entries. Then , we want to get the IP reset, so, lets renew its settings and see if this also helps out : you will type in the command box : ipconfig /release then enter, then next ipconfig /renew then enter, this will reset the I
sharing DHCP Client service does not start because of dependency failure DHCP Client service does not start because of dependency failure New 01 Nov 2007 #1 Lanny Lin Guest DHCP Client service does not start because of dependency failure My user's Dell M1330 laptop recently bought is not able to get connected to networks both with the NIC and the Wireless card. We know the router is not the problem because other Desktop (wired connection) and Laptop (wireless) can connect to the router just fine. The problem is basically because the laptop NIC is not getting an IP address assigned by DHCP server, and further investigating revealed that the DHCP Client service is not started (although it was set to automatically start). We couldn't manually start the service and got an 1608 error saying dependency group failed (without telling us which one failed). Looking in the dependency tab of the DHCP Client shows these are components the service depends on: Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver > TCP/IP Protocal Driver Network Store Interface Service> NSI proxy service We checked and know the NSI proxy service is running fine. We can ping 127.0.01 and I think that means the TCP/IP Protocal Driver is working fine. So that leaves the AFD driver in question. So how can we find out if the AFD driver has been loaded correctly? Thanks for any help or pointer! Best, Lanny My System Specs You need to have JavaScript enabled so that you can use this ... New 03 Nov 2007 #2 Lanny Lin Guest RE: DHCP Client service does not start because of dependency failure I finally figured it out. To test is AFD is loaded correctly, first start CMD as an administrator, and then type net start AFD As I suspected, the AFD driver couldn't be loaded. And I had to use sfc /scannow to repair the corrupted driver file. Once it's repaired, I started DHCP Client service just fine and I was able to get DHCP assigned IPs with no problem. Hope this will help someone else who experience the same problem.
