The VMware services will be started. I'm using VMware 9 and runing on windows 8, I could not find the solution to workaround this issue, I think it's bug. –Telvin Nguyen Mar 9 '13 at 11:43 4 iDev has the correct answer. Should not need repaired, most likely just the service not running. –Tom Stickel Dec 6 '13 at 5:43 1 Please check iDev's correct answer as verified !! –Iman Mirzadeh Sep 11 '14 at 20:57 @TomStickel Error 1075 occurs when trying to start the service. Apparently, the installer won't repair unless the versions match exactly, either. I'm running 9.0.4 and the installer is for 9.0.2 so it won't repair. Very annoying. –Mark Good May 19 '15 at 11:51 add a comment| 11 Answers 11 active oldest votes up vote 70 down vote To fix this solution i followed: this 1.Click Start and then type Run 2.Type services.msc and click OK 3.Scroll down the list and locate that the VMware Authorization service. 4.Click Start the service, unless the service is showing a status of Started. share|improve this answer answered Dec 4 '13 at 4:49 Syed Asad Ali 92368 10 Exactly! Multiple identical twin laptops have no problem. Best suggestion so far has been to leave the domain and rejoin it, BUT the relevant buttons are grayed out and the comment says "Note: The identification of the error 1075 computer cannot be changed because:- The Workstation service is not running. Open the Services snap-in (services.msc) to ensure it is running and set its Startup Type as "Automatic"." In services.msc the Workstation service is already set to Automatic but is not started. When I try to start it manually the response is "Windows could not start the Workstation service on Local Computer." and then error 1075 the "Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion." Rebooting gets me nowhere. In all other respects that laptop appears fine and can connect to the Internet, but NOT to the network. I have brought it and a twin laptop home to try on my domestic network and get the same results. Any ideas, please? I cannot wait any longer and hence I have taken an image from the working twin laptop and put that onto the problem machine. I then changed the Windows license key and the Computer Name to the correct ones. or has been marked for deletion" Release: Windows XP. Solution: Remove Third-Party Dependency Lookup service configuration using special command: sc qc spooler As you see there are two lines under "DEPENDENCIES": RPCSS - Remote Procedure Call (usually always http - http Service (rarely has any problems) Go to the Windows Registry Editor (press "Win" + "R" buttons and type "regedit" without quotes) In Registry Editor locate Spooler key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Spooler) and find "DependOnService" parameter. Double-click on it and in the list remove third party service (any service other than RPCSS and Http). To apply changes to registry you need to reboot your PC.
