The Vista Audio Service won't start .. My X-Fi card shows up as working A.OK in device manager and I've re-installed its drivers to no luck .. Then, when trying to Start the Service (Start - Service - Windows Audio Service - Start) I get the error .. "Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion." All the start up settings for the service seem to be in order and no amount of fiddling seems to have helped .. I've reinstalled mobo drivers, tried registry changes .. But no luck .. Anyone have any ideas? Fix is here. We have already seen many issues regarding various services, when dependency service do not coordinate, the actual service failed to start as a consequence of this. error 1075 Recently, we came around the similar problem for Security Center service. If you can't start Security Center service, checkout this fix. After applying the same fix, one of my reader asked that he now gets different error and thus can't start the service. This is what he received now: Windows could not start the Security Center service on Local Computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not 1075 windows 7 exist or has been marked for deletion. This error is not only bound to Security Center service, but you can get this with other services too, which have dependency on some other services. In such a case, when try to check Dependencies tab for the service, you'll find that both the boxes (This service depends on the following system components and vice versa) are empty. After doing a bit research on this error, we found that this hiccup can be tackled easily from registry manipulation. Also, you may want to give a try by running SFC /SCANNOW in administrative Command Prompt and see if it helps. Even if this not helps and you're still getting Error 1075, no matter whichever the service is, try this general method by substituting your service name in successive steps: FIX : The Dependency Service Does Not Exist Or Has Been Marked For Deletion NOTE : Making mistakes while manipulating registry could affect your system adversely. So be careful while editing registry entries, also its better to create a System Restore point before proceeding. 1. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Advertisement TylerK Thread Starter Joined: Nov 12, 2007 Messages: 9 So I was doing a little bit of coding for my bot today, listening to music so I can stay motivated to keep working on it without going insane, and all of a sudden my music goes out.... Now I know that windows vista has a popular problem with the ever famous Error 1075, dependancy or groups error, but this is not that error. For some reason my Audio won't start when I try to manually start it, or when I try to manually load svchost.exe from the system32 folder, witch actually worked last time I had a sound problem. The error I'm getting now is a "Access Denied" error, Error 0x80070005 to be exact. "Error 0x80070005: Access is denied." Nothing fancy really, but the weird thing is I'm on the main administrator account for the computer, and I've done this before with no problems at all. It will start to load it up for about 2 or 3 seconds before it gets this error, and then no go. I really need this to be fixed because I go crazy coding without music, and my bot is far from finished. Please post anything you've got on this. -TK TylerK, Nov 12, 2007 #1 Sponsor TylerK Thread Starter Joined: Nov 12, 2007 Messages: 9 Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I'm on a Toshiba Satellite A215 (All retail) with Windows Vista Home Premium, Realtek High Definition Audio Controller, and the weird thing is, I have the little X on my speaker down in the tray menu as if it were muted, and well my wireless also has a red X on it as if it can't connect, but I can connect to it just fine, I am right now, but the Audio doesn't work even when it asks me to turn on Audio Service. -TK TylerK, Nov 14, 2007 #2 Elvandil Joined: Aug 1, 2003 Messages: 51,988 Access Denied to what? Any warnings in Devixce Manager? Have you turned off any services? As always, try chkdsk /f Elvandil, Nov 14, 2007 #3 TylerK Thread Starter Joined: Nov 12, 2007 Messages: 9 Device manager works fine, and I haven't turned off any services. However, when I do the chkdsk /f it tells me that "Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)" I put yes, restarted, and still nothing is happening. Someone on another forum said that when they installed the new version of AIM the other day (6.2) that's when their volume turned off,
